If I remember correctly it was not really easy to assemble and the directions could be improved. I used it for the first time today and applying the amount to be spread was not easy.

I like the product. I did not enjoy the assembly part one bit. It could have had some pre assembly but it did not. The instructions were horrible. If I had to buy again I would not if it came unassembled.

Performed well on first use as far as distribution is concerned. My biggest complaint is with the gate lever. There is no way to accurately control open/close the gate while on the tractor. Balance seems to be quite good with a full load, and the tires give good traction while pulling around the yard. It is a challenge to store as it is large.

Assembly took roughly 40 minutes and was easy and straight forward. The spreader had no problems handling 80 pounds of fertilizer. I have 2 1/2 mowable acres, and the first application of fertilizer went flawlessly. The shipping was fast. The spreader arrived two days earlier than the expected date.
The only negative thing I have to say about the spreader is that it doesn't come with a metal grate to help break up chunks of fertilizer. A grate is available for purchase ($29.95 I believe), but it's made of soft plastic, bends easily, and isn't particularly effective. I don't recommend buying it unless your fertilizer got wet or is extra chunky.

It worked fairly well the first time I used it, but be aware that it has you start out at setting 5, but that is too wide. The bad part is, a lot of products you buy to put in it, don't direct you how wide to set it at. So it's a guessing game...trial and error.
