I bought this spreader early spring. Used it for one pass in my back yard. Gears slipped. Called parts dept. They sent new gears. Put them on and didn't use the spreader until now, Fall time. Loaded it up, made 2 passes in the back yard. Worked fine one way, slipped gears the other way. I have a 10% (maybe) back yard. I'm 64, the yard is 300 feet deep. Not going to push that heavy sucker up and down the hill. Called the factory. They said the spreader is made for flat surface only. Now I have a $300+ piece of junk for the garage sale. Back to my 10 year old plastic Scotts spreader that works either direction on a hill.

I am sorry to hear that the spreader has not worked for your application since purchased. Parts would be the best method of repairing the unit if the company you purchased the unit from cannot authorize a return.
