So far only used twice really early to assess, the mulching kit works great ! I couldn't find any signs of the 2" clippings !

Popped Belt

Followed instructions that but came with mower and still popped deck belt within a minute before of starting to cut. A talk with both Arien and mowers direct have confirmed that neither will honor the warranty unless I pay for transportation to a dealer.
I asked for a new belt that I could install but was forced to pay for it. In my opinion they should send a new belt to cover a mistake either in the factory or during shipping. Mowers Direct empathized saying that's the way it is.
I have bought numerous American made items from them feeling that they would support a good customer, unfortunately I was wrong.

This is a very well made mower. I would recommend this unit to any one with over an acre to cut it is very comfortable and once you get used to the controls it is very responsive and will cut your mowing time down.
When you see the quality and think long term I would greatly consider this unit.

Order on a Wednesday - received in less than a week. Lift gate service was flawless - driver used a power jack to bring it up my long driveway. Was well packed in a pallet - and a sawzall made quick work of that.
Once assembled - it was easy to drive and literally took me no longer than 5 minutes to feel comfortable. Knocked out my acre in about an hour when a push mower took about 4.
My only concern is lack of under deck access...but this is a problem with most ZT's I believe. Debating whether to get a MoJack mower lift or use a car jack. We'll see - just ordered a mulch kit so I'll need to figure that out sooner or later.
There is no deck wash out port and after inquiring with Ariens about this, they said the fabricated deck doesn't come with them because they are typically used in a commercial environment and would not last. The deck is designed well enough that clumping shouldn't occur that often however. I'm only using it once every week - 10 days so I don't think this will be an issue and I'll just clean it when I figure out how to lift it! Instruction manual was very vague on how to do this.

I performed months of extensive research before I made my purchase and I'm thoroughly satisfied with this Ariens. I considered Toro, Deere, Husky, Cadet, and even some of the higher end brands before I settled on this horse! I'm mowing about a 1/2 acre Bermuda lawn that has not quite thickened up yet so, I can't comment too much on cutting power.
However, the Kohler 7000 starts instantly and howls when you turn her up. I've cut with the mower 3 times thus far and I'm particularly impressed with the controls and cutting height dial which is a Ariens/Gravely exclusive. The mower is very well built and, through research, you will be hard pressed to find a better mower for the $$$ I will provide a better update midsummer.

I ordered Monday evening, had it delivered Thursday. I didn't pay for expedited shipping either. I just can't get over how fast it arrived!!!
I went to register it, found dealer already had for me!! Another plus!!
Then I actually used it, and wow.... Having used a Craftsman tractor for the past 10 years, this was certainly far more mower than I bargained for!!! It's certainly going to take some practice getting used to..
In shopping for a new mower, I almost went with the Toro, until I went and looked at them in person, the Ariens is most comfortable, by far, heavier duty, thicker gauge deck, and just far more durable, with features I would expect in a commercial mower. I was really glad I got out and looked over several makes and models before settling on the Ariens.

For the money spent, I expected a good mower, My expectations were exceeded after getting it assembled and taking it for a spin. When ordering a mower in December, you don't get a chance to spend much time testing it out. I did buy the powered bagger (well worth the money also) and had a couple days to mow over leaves.
It doesn't have "suck" but it has plenty of "blow" with the powered bagger. Even mowing over some snow covered leaves (December!) I couldn't plug it until the bags were full to the brim (my fault). Overall, easy to assemble, easy to operate and a very good powered bagger mower for the money!

I bought it and put the bagger on it it will pick leaves and mulch the grass what took me an 8 hours I do in 3 it's best price and American made went together easy any one could do it great machine
