Great size for my in-town yard.

I shopped for a long time to find a zero-turn mower that was appropriate for my average city yard. After looking locally without success, I went to Mowers Direct and soon found this Ariens 34" that looked good, and would fit through my standard wood fence gates.
After using it several times, I am very pleased with the abundant power it has and the quality of the construction. The purchase was easy and the shipping was handled exactly as promised. I paid for the lift-gate service and with little effort it was soon in my garage. The crating was very good, almost too good. It took a couple of hours to set it free.

Consumers need to know

Well, I bought this mower about 4 months into 2016.. so far I'm pretty pleased with the mower but there are two big issue that should be dealt with.. the reverse mode on this mower is super slow, and the mower deck has no anti-scalp wheels, so it's very easy to get snared on something on your lawn you can very easily destroy your lawn mower deck if you're not super careful once you bang this mower deck pretty good you might as well scrap this mower.
Other than that, everything else works pretty well. Oh, by the way, stick to the regular blades. I bought the mulching blades and they seem to not cut as well.. now would I buy another one of these mowers, probably not unless they put anti scalp wheels on the deck..

This is a good mower. Had just one problem. To install the bagger, you have to remove the front plate. The bolt was overtightened in mfg. and was stripped. Had to drill it out to replace the front plate for the bagger. Customer service said to take it to the dealer and let them do it. No way to get it to the dealer as I don't have a trailer. Bought it from Mowers Direct, so no taking it back there. In final review the mower is good, but the bagger system is overpriced for what you get.

Overall, I love the mower. Steering was something I had to get used to as the shorter width between tires makes it very sensitive. Easy to operate. Could use a couple small improvements. There is not a wash out port (really don't understand why as that seems standard on zero turns and riders now) and the chute cover got chewed up by the blade the first day I had it. Other than those things, I love it! Plenty of power and not too bad on gas consumption either.

First Zero Turn

Bought this to replace my 33" Snapper tractor. I have about 3/4 acre to mow. After two mowing's, I am a complete believer. This thing is a beast. I'm just learning and it already has cut my mowing time in half. And it gets so much more of the lawn cut that my trimmer time will be reduced as well.
Toughest part of the entire deal was getting it out of the shipping crate. My gosh it was crated to survive anything. I made good use of my cordless Sawsall.
The blade engagement is a joy. Just pull up a knob... two fingers! My Snapper requires a mighty pull on a heavy duty lever... this is just too easy. The parking brake is about as easy. And no brake... just let the handles come back to center.
Mow in reverse?? Yup and about any other direction.
Wish I had made the change sooner. I am a happy camper.. just wish the grass would grow faster.

I have owned my share of mowers from walk behind to riders to zero turns and the Ariens is by far the most well built one I ever owned. This mower with the 19 hp Kohler engine makes mowing a breeze.
Take it from me, you can't go wrong. I am very pleased with my Ariens zero turn mower. I even bought the chrome rims. It's the coolest looking mower in the neighborhood.

I am well pleased with my mower. It does the job very well. I have only one problem - I need a sprocket that would fit a larger rear wheels for the one-inch axle, with four lugs. I have not been able to find this adaptor. Can you help?? Thank you, Phil Jenkins, a happy customer!!!

I have a Cadet RZT 42", 30" timemaster, 33" cub and now the ariens 34". The ariens is the smoothest mower I have ever driver. If you are looking into this mower get the 19 HP. If you follow Kohler you know the engine is unstoppable. When you put 19 horses on this smaller mower you can really get stuff done. Never bogs down and is reliable to the core.
The only downfall seems to be from the big casters in the front or the small wheels in the back or both. Haven't figured it out yet. When you turn on a slight hill the big casters give in to the hill much to fast and you slide. Its really the only negative. My favor part of the mower is the smooth hydros.Compared to my rzt the ariens is a cadillac and the cub is an old pickup truck.
Hold out for the 19 HP. You ll want this engine!

Runs great, mows great, cut mowing time in half. Was disappointed that at the price it didn't come with a trailer hitch or a washout port . Was able to order the hitch but so far no luck with the washout port kit , and I even have the part #.

I have my own landscaping business and this mower cuts through grass wet or dry and leaves it looking great. I also bought it for the convenience of getting into backyards, it fits through about 80% of them and cuts my mow time in half. Its a must buy for beginners all the way to the pros, trust me.
