Delivers On It's Promise!

This machine replaced an 18-year old 28" heavy duty Troybilt. It throws the snow exactly as promised accidentally tossed snow on my neighbor's front porch that was 30' away. Engine solid & runs evenly dug in well in the deeper snow. Concerns: front end very bouncy - had to order the weight kit & hope that fixes the problem. Frankly, this is an issue that Ariens ought to engineer out of the machine instead of making you pay for a fix for a known problem. Pricey for a snow thrower that needs a band-aid right off the bat. Once I get this issue resolved and get over my irritation, I'm sure the machine will provide many years of service. FYI - is geared lower than several other brands I have used over the years. Not for use with light (3" or less) snows.

Motor Blew Up

Bought machine this fall, ran it for a while to make sure transmission and auger worked. First snow on Christmas day 3-4 in. Got half of driveway cleared when motor started missing and stopped. Used pull start handle, which broke off in my hand because motor was seizing up. Used electric start for a second or two and heard the sound of a destroyed internal combustion engine.

Now in the painful process of getting repair/replacement from Ariens. If I have to drive to Wisconsin to drop machine in Ariens factory I'll do it. I just want a machine that works.

American made ain't what it used to be, but then again America ain't what it used to be either...

Ariens Deluxe 28”

The good is I haven’t had to use it yet. It took about 90 minutes to put it all together the instructions were certainly not as clear as I would have liked them to be. I think if the directions were better it would have taken less time. I YouTubed the build instructions they helped, but it was certainly not perfect.

After I put it together it started right up, I’m hoping it stays together when I use it.

Overall, you can tell it’s very well built. For this is an upgrade from my small Ariens.

Solid Machine...Does The Job!

I received my Ariens 360CC SHO two weeks ago....No snow yet..

However, the assembly was a snap. The delivery went as planned. Everything was intact and unscathed. I was surprised not to find an extension cord for the electric start. Extra charge...ZING! My neighbor has the same machine, and I did try it last year. It's an awesome machine. I cannot wait to throw the snow. I am eager to learn how it does with the slushier snow, as we have been getting more ice and wetter snow due to global warming. Looking forward to the first DUMP! Thanks, SBD!

This snow blower is excellent. It was easy to assemble (follow the instructions) and easy to operate. It has sufficient power and range for my needs, even in high-packed snow. I definitely recommend it to anyone.

The Beast

I bought this snowblower to replace a craftsman 7.75 hp, 206cc two-stage snowblower that I’ve had for a number of years. The Ariens has more power and a larger cut and auger. In addition, it has a steering assist. I’ve used it several times in light snow as well as heavy slush-based snow. This is a beast. It handled the snow and slush no problem.

One tip, if you have wet snow or slush, do yourself a favor and get some silicon spray for snowblowers and plow blades. The heavy-duty silicon will prevent clogging of the auger and chute. Overall, I’m completely satisfied with my purchase and with the PED shipping and delivery service. The assembly instructions were not the best, but if you are mechanically inclined you can figure them out with ease. You will definitely want the liftgate service as this product is close to 300 pounds.

I finally caved in and purchased a snow blower after needing to borrow my neighbors a few times this season. He had an older craftsman that he picked up at a garage sale. It saved my back a few times when there was a lot of snow, but it couldn't handle thick and heavy snow. It would bog and sometimes even turn off. It had trouble getting up my driveway, which isn't even that steep, it just didn't do well with slick/steep angles.

The 28" Ariens is probably a little overkill for my driveway, but man it does not disappoint. We live on a dead-end so the plows put all the snow in a pile at the end of the street which happens to be an entrance for my driveway. It builds up thick and heavy and this is crucial to have a good snow blower. The Ariens ate right through that snow build-up, without skipping a beat. No bogging or any issues. I even brought it down the street to my neighbors hours earlier this week. He has a very steep driveway and said he needed one with tracks. This Ariens proved to be no problem for the driveway. The tires are very nubby and they grab without a problem. I cleared his long steep driveway within 10 minutes.

I am very pleased with this unit. I got the poly skids from Ariens, which helped a lot. Don't forget you need to adjust the skids with you on the first use because the unit is on the ground, so it gets caught easily. Assembly is easy with the basic tools provided in the manual.

I did a ton of research on a bunch of different snow blowers before settling on the Ariens. I needed one that would throw the snow a good distance because of the way our driveway is set up. I had seen the claims on the SHO models and with some skepticism, ordered one from Snow Blowers Direct, mainly because all of the local dealers were sold out. The blower showed up on time and after a half-hour, or so of the assembly was ready to go.

Fast forward about 2 weeks to the first snowfall after receiving the blower. We got about 12 inches of snow, so it was time to play! The Ariens fired right up using the electric start, and I was off to the races. I have been behind several snow blowers in my time, but I could not believe how far this thing was tossing the snow. I was hoping for 20 feet of throw but easily got 40. Even the muck that was put in the entrance to the driveway by the township plow truck was clearing our 2 lane country road with ease as I blew it to the other side.

The snow we received was about a week before the "big football game". I didn't do our entire drive right away, as I didn't see the sense. However, we decided to have folks over for the game, and I knew there wasn't enough space cleared for everyone to park. So, 6 days after the snow, I fired up the Ariens once again to do the impossible. I was going to attempt to clear out the remaining snow, which I had thrown snow on top of just days prior....and which had time to develop an icy crust from the thaw/freeze cycle of the past several days. The blower dug right in and tossed the snow completely out of the way, with no hesitation. To be fair, I did have to work a bit, close to the road where the plow truck had dumped snow off the edge of the plow, to get it to dig in. But the rest of the area cleared out just as easily as the first day it snowed.

I am definitely a true believer in the Ariens SHO!
