Great Machine, Impossible Chute Control

This is my second snowblower and it is a beast. It will move snow, period. The blower is easy to control and the turning is incredibly easy. Saves a lot of time on my driveway. We had a freaky snow day a few months ago (in NOVEMBER) and this removed it quickly. One biggest problem in putting this together is that chute control is a piece of garbage and makes the whole thing frustrating. I have adjusted it a billion times to see if I can control the direction of the chute. If I can move it, I can't get it to lock. If I lock it, I have to manually unlock to move the chute. Cannot connect with the manufacturer and SnowBlowersDIrect dealt with my problem by sending me to the manufacturer who won't let me speak with anyone! Frustrating after spending over $3,500!

Excellent Machine

This is my second 36" Ariens snowblower and it is significantly better than the one I owned 12 years ago. The electronic ignition and fuel metering makes it easier to start while automatically compensating for my 5,000 foot-elevation. The hydrostatic drive with simple disengagement for free-wheeling is a treat. I particularly like the ease of making 180 degree tight turns to reverse course and the ability to keep the rotor engaged underway without holding the lever down to enable using my right hand to adjust other controls.
My only wish is that the small battery for the electronic fuel and ignition systems could be trickle charged through the 120-volt starting system receptacle rather than requiring disconnecting a Molex connector under the control console which requires using both hands while on your knees to access.
