Very difficult to use, I purchased for little pads, AC, back door etc. Drag the 20” off the trailer it’s faster.

The Bearing Makes The Difference
By Ed L.

Purchased 07/03/2023 |
Review Posted 08/20/2023
As the title states, the bearing cartridge makes all the difference. This is my second surface cleaner. The first one, of a different brand, lasted 2 years. The main rotary stem was made up of nylon washers and Teflon tape. The rotary stem of the first cleaner had no replacement parts. BE design features a large bearing cartridge that can be replaced. Not a commercial product but more mid range.

Solid In Its Class

Sadly my residential PW only puts out 2.5 gpm, not enough to use a semi-commercial surface washer. I was hoping to find one with a bearing that can be lubricated, but PW Direct customer service pointed out that all of the washers with a maintainable bearing required a more powerful PW.
So, on their advice chose this one. Advantages, versus the Simpson entry level surface washer I had previously--build quality is better. The actual spray arms and bearing look much more solid than the Simpson. Performance out of the box was fine. Only gripe is that the plastic housing is light enough that it tends to get pushed off the ground, unlike the metal housing that the Simpson had. So you actually have to push down to keep it on the ground, a minor annoyance. You also can't disassemble the bearing to spray in lubricant, but I'm hoping that just spraying the base of the spray arm apparatus will help.
Overall, a solid deal for the money, hope it lasts longer than the Simpson. And a PW without a surface washer is crippled, so get this!

I use 3.5 gpm at 3200 psi and it seems that is operating at the max this tool can take. I can barely hold onto the ground while working, however, it works very well.

The Best Disk For Non-commercial Pressure Washers
By Colt
Alabama
Purchased 07/10/2015 |
Review Posted 04/08/2023
Purchased June 2015, nearly 8 years ago. The jets sometimes get clogged but can be cleared with a sewing needle. WD40 will keep it lubricated. A few times I've had to turn it upside down, squeeze and release trigger, and give it a bump with a stick to spin. After use, found best to shoot the jets with a turbo nozzle to prevent clog.
This disk has paid for itself a long time ago. I use it with a 3000 psi @2.5 gpm, but have tried it on other home models such as 2700 and 2300 psi and it did spin.
When doing a filthy driveway, it's important to take slow to prevent tiger stripes. I've found that dragging back works best for me. Of course, soaping your project first will make it much easier.
I first bought a Home Depot brand. It did well when it worked, which was less than 10 minutes. A small rock shattered the plastic, and it wouldn't hover anymore. This BE brand is much stronger. So many rocks have hit the inside and it hasn't fazed it.
The pictures show its performance on a current job.

Product works real well . Simple to use. Cleaned a 30' x 20' driveway in 1 hr. 30 mins.. Used a 6' wand extension. Works better than a short wand. Better control of the whirl-a-way.

Big Improvement Over Just A Wand And Nozzle
By Shawn B
Indiana
Review Posted 08/10/2022
I'm using this with a unit rated for 2500 psi and 2.3 gpm. It's enough to power this. Gets the job done faster with less water and no splattering sand and dirt on nearby walls. There was a metal shaving left in the spraybar that promptly clogged a nozzle. No big deal to remove the nozzles and flush it out. I didn't see it mentioned in the manual but there is a small grease fitting to lubricate the bearing. A sparing amount once a year is good.

BE Whirl-A-Way 14" Surface Cleaner (4000 PSI) is a well built cleaning attachment. Easy to connect and easy to use. Just finished a 50' cement driveway, which was a total disaster in appearance, with dirt lines imbedded from the last so called professional cleaning where they did not use a surface cleaner, and the driveway looks almost as clean as when originally installed

Answered by Jim, the Pressure Washer Expert
Hi Mike, I have a Troy-Bilt power washer with 2550 psi @ 2.3 gpm and would like to know which BE Surface Cleaner would be best for me? I would like to have a 14 to 20 incher if possible. Or should I just spring for a more powerful washer?
Thanks for your help,
Fred

I have a fairly new cedar deck that I have cleaned with a brush about 3 times and then stained with Penofin stain.
I have not used my 3000 psi power washer because the deckm guy said I would damage the wood.
Can I use B Whirl away safely on my deck?
Thanks, Mike
