The 18" push harvester has made gathering sweet gum balls a breeze. It's lightweight, quiet, and environmentally friendly. It spares me from endless hours of raking pesky gum balls, and it gives me time for pastimes I enjoy.

Job Well Done
By Phillip G.

This has turned out to be THE best equipment for picking up those dastardly sweet gumballs. I have five trees, and the work gets more difficult with each passing year. It is very easy to use. I already have a system in place for cleaning the yard. I wish I took that leap of faith sooner. I think it may be a little pricey, but I can see the investment paying off in no time at all. Job well done!

Great Product, Well Made, Light, Easy To Use, Picked Up 150
By Ronnie G.
Water Valley, Mississippi
Purchased 04/15/2020 |
Review Posted 05/06/2020
It works better on a pristine lawn with no small limbs or branches, which may not be possible since you have sweet gum trees if you have sweet gumballs. The first harvest went slow because I didn’t pick up all of the smalls limbs. The second time was much better since lawn cleaner. It's worth the cost to me, because I have multiple trees.

It's a piece of very good equipment, and it does what it says it should do! It's very easy to assemble, and it's easy to operate! I only had mine for a few months, but I'm very happy with it! Although, a little pricey, by far the best way to deal with these little buggers!

I could not be happier with this product! It used to take me hours two clean up my yard with a rake, and now it only takes about twenty minutes. It's well worth the money!

Awesome Design, Plastic Quality Suspect
By Peter W.

Purchased 03/30/2020 |
Review Posted 04/22/2020
Unless the sweet gum ball has been stepped on or otherwise ground into the dirt, this thing will pick it up. Longer grass, clover, not a problem. Just don't put sideways torque on the teeth (more on that below). It's an amazing design, super easy to use and it works very well. I have six large sweet gum trees in my back yard, and we were considering trying seasonal tree injections (very expensive). This product has helped me reclaim my back yard! My little kids love to run around in bare feet.
My one complaint is that the green plastic used for the teeth rings does not look like it will last. I have already bent a handful of individual teeth, and you can tell the plastic is discolored and stressed. They feel like recycled plastic, which while I'm a fan of being as eco-conscious, I expect higher quality components for $500. The engineering is simple but highly effective, so I'm happy with my purchase, but I don't know how well it will work once it starts losing teeth. Mine have bent from small sticks getting stuck in the frame, or just from rolling it on one of its "edges" as I turned around to make another pass. If there's nothing other than grass and gumballs, and you roll in a straight line, I'd expect this thing would last for ages, but that's not realistic in a backyard with lots of trees.

Unbelievable!

I couldn't wait to try it when it arrived. I opened the box and was really impressed with the thickness of the tubing used for the handle. It was easy to assemble. I was really impressed by how well it picked up the sweet gumballs. You may have to go slower than what you want to if the sweet gum balls have been down very long and are embedded in the grass, but it will get them. I think adding wheel weights would have helped in this situation. It sure beats hand raking! I'm very pleased and would highly recommend it. It might seem a little pricey, but I don't think you'll mind the price once you see how well it works.
