If you want striping this is the only way to go . Easy to install good instructions easy to follow, unbelievable results. You won't be disappointed. Great product.

Yes, the price is a bit steep and you certainly can DiY something yourself (I tried a number of different methods), this really stripes lawns well. The installation was pretty easy on my Dixon zero turn (61 inch deck). The first time mowing with it attached, it took a little getting used to. The second time cutting with this attached, I was able to raise the mowing deck for a more appropriate cutting height and the change was dramatic. My lawn looks fantastic and the design doesn't prevent the airflow around the engine like some of the DiY models. The roller and parts look and feel like quality pieces and seem like they will hold up for a long time.

Not so Universal afterall

I purchased the "universal" striping kit for my new john deere zero turn mower. when i received it, i had difficulty figuring out how to install based upon the instructions provided. i contacted the help desk at Checkmate and was told that the "universal" system does not work on my mower unless i wanted to remove the rear weight device and then drill two holes into the body of the mower. now i have a $375 "universal" system that is not so much. very disappointed that the website did not disclose this fact prior to ordering.

The product page on our site, under Features, indicates that it requires (2) 3/8-inch holes, and that it's ideal for mower decks 48-50 inches wide.
If your mower features a rear weight device in the place where this would be installed, it would have to be removed and replaced with this striping kit.
