Much Easier Than Pouring A Pad

I bought the pad that was suggested for my specific manufacturer and size generator. The 4 embedded anchors are not even close to being in the correct spots to direct mount my generator. It was easy enough to drill new holes and use tapcons to anchor the generator. The quality and finish of the casting was good overall, and it was much easier than pouring my own pad.

The pad worked as advertised, but I did have a couple of issues to deal with. First, the pad arrived promptly via truck sightly damaged. I feel the damage was due to inadequate packaging. While the pad was on a pallet, it had no wrapping or cardboard for protection what so ever. In addition, it wasn't even banded to the pallet. The damage was a hole that was about the size of a quarter and about 3/4" deep located on the top of the pad as if something had been placed on top of the pad that had something sticking out of it like a bolt or nail and during transit created the hole in the top surface of the pad. Since I was ready to use the pad, I decided to accept the pad as is and I filled the hole with a two part epoxy which seemed to do the trick. Better packaging and maybe a "DO NOT STACK" label may have prevented this.
Once I had the pad in position and set the generator on the pad, I noticed that there was a 1/4" gap between the pad and the generator on one end. You could easily see that the pad had not been molded flat over the entire length. I dealt with it by shimming up the end with some aluminum I happened to have which did the trick. Again, this issue could have easily been avoided with a little better quality control.
Other than that the pad worked well and bolted right up to the generator as you would expect.

This product from Briggs and Stratton is much easier the poring a cement slab. The convenience of being able to get th best location for your generator it was a excellent fit and looks great.

This fit the Briggs 20KV stand-by generator perfectly. Much easier than pouring your own pad and trying to set the bolts in the correct place. Heavy enough that you don't have to worry about it shifting or settling as long as you've prepared a level place to put it prior to setting it in place. Great item.

This was so easy, clear a spot, lay some gravel, and level the pad. By keeping the pad above grade, you can put your oil drain pan in a position that allows the oil to flow.
