I have used this pressure washer many times in 8 years and it did the job. Took care of it and replaced the seals that wear down with time. Engine still works well but the regulator on the bottom seized up from non use. I have not found that rebuild kit.

This unit functions as designed, and performs well. One minor setback is that the fuel tank could have been made larger for longer running time. Other than that, performance is excellent.

PIECE of JUNK

Bought this unit in 2008 but only used it a handful of times. It is VERY hard to start. Leaks oil all the time. I have replaced carb, governor spring, air vane spring, spark plugs, cleaned out gas tank, changed oil, you name it I did it. AND IT STILL won't run.
The unit I have is the Troy Bilt 2550 PSI but it has the same 657 series Briggs and Stratton engine. Craftsman has one also and I have read that the engine has the same problems. Bottom line Don't buy Briggs and Stratton!

Don't Buy This Model!!

I purchased this model and used it twice for some light cleaning. The pump has subsequently failed.
While it was working it was wonderful...good pressure..easy to use....but I won't be replacing it with another Briggs & Stratton.

This unit comes with a generous 2 year Factory Warranty. Just go the Briggs Service Center Locator to find the authorized warranty repair location near you.
If there is more than one shop in your area you may want to call around to see which one has the quickest turn-around time.

I am very familiar with the Briggs 6.75 Ready-Start engine that is on this washer. Make sure you use fresh, clean fuel ONLY! It is explained in the Owner's Manual.

I just purchased this 2500 Ready Start at a store because it was marked down, but had been returned because it wouldn't start. Supposedly it had been repaired and they started it for me at the store...but it is not returnable and I cannot purchase the warranty.
Sure hope I didn't make a colossal mistake! Haven't used it yet. Will report further after I use it!

This unit has a 2 year Factory Warranty from the folks at Briggs & Stratton when it's new. We don't sell Refurbished units, but sometimes those units have a shorter warranty (30 or 90 days).
Your best bet would be to use your pressure washer right away to make sure it works properly. If not, then give the folks at Briggs & Stratton a call, toll free, at (800) 743-4115 to find out what your coverage might be.
Please be sure to have the serial number of your unit handy when you call Briggs. They may also ask for a copy of your sales receipt if warranty work is needed.

Engine won't restart

I purchased this, assembled it and used it for the first time yesterday. It started on the first pull. I cleaned half my deck, then it ran out of gas. So I filled it up with gas, tried to restart it- forget about it wouldn't start.
I pulled it till my arm just about fell off. There's no choke or primer bulb, it's called Ready Start. I guess it means Ready Start Just Once.
Then I noticed oil leaked out... so I loaded it in the truck and returned back to the store.
Don't buy this- junk, junk, junk!! I ordered a 2500 Generac because it has a very good customer reviews...
