A Protective Cover For Storing Generator Outside

After hearing about a wind, rain and snowstorm approaching my area in a little over a week, I decided to order this cover in case the power went out. It arrived in a few days ahead of the storm. Fast shipping. Following the directions, putting it together wasn't too hard. It went together well and after putting it over the generator, I adjusted it to how I wanted it to fit so the flap covering the electric panel was low enough. The Velcro on other areas hold well against the wind and the open area for the exhaust is plenty large enough not to melt any of the cover. I'm glad I bought this cover with the options is offers so I can keep the generator outside ready to use. It's a little bit pricey but made very well and don't regret buying it compared to other covers. My generator is a Champion, model 100110.

Seems well put together and having a cast iron sleeve it should last longer than most. I put a battery maintainer plug on it and coated the inside of the gas tank to prevent rust, they really should come with plastic gas tanks for that reason. I plan on using LP gas until absolutely necessary to keep the gasoline components clean.

I live in South Florida and purchased the cover for use after initial hurricane force storms have passed. I have tested the cover in significant rain fall and wind gusts just to check it out before hurricane season. The cover works as advertised. Keeps the unit dry from blowing wind and rain, and allows exhaust and air flow to vent through. I hope I dont have to have it out and running at the rated 70 mph wind limit, but I would trust it up to that point for sure.
