I was pleasantly surprised with the Core trimmer. The tool works as advertised and I have used it on my farm for the past month. My experience is that it is not as powerful as my previous 4 cycle gas trimmer, but it handles most jobs well. Having the two batteries has been useful for bigger jobs. I would recommend it for almost any yard-related use other than the heaviest chores.

Nice trimmer but don't throw out the gas trimmer

This is a nice trimmer. There are lots of reasons to use it. It doesn't vibrate or get hot so you can run it longer and feel it less. It is lighter than my gas trimmer and the string feed works great. All that said, there are some deficiencies as well. The trimmer doesn't have the power of a gas unit. Sorry it just doesn't.
It's also not as responsive getting to full speed so its takes a little longer before you can plow into the tall grass. I got it with 2 batteries and that was a smart move because I consistently get 45 minutes from one battery and 25 from the other. Since combining those times still doesn't cover my yards weed eating for a mowing day, I always still need to break out my gas trimmer. I am glad I didn't throw the gas trimmer out. The Core trimmer is a good investment but not a replacement for my yard.

Day 1 on a full charge

Lighter than my 4 cycle craftsman trimmer and 3x easier to wield. I went after the 10 to 12 inch thick grass along my fence on high and made it to 35 or 40 minutes at which point the trimmer stopped.
It clogged up several times but the grass was very easy to pull out, that was great! My gas trimmer would have kept going but at a higher cost to my back and my ears. I have a tough yard, 4 acres, will need another battery or two. We'll see, but I am very pleased.

Ample power and battery life makes the extra battery rather superfluous. It's still going strong after I've decided that I'm going to call it a day.

Bought this with extra battery to replace a gas trimmer - ethanol gas was destroying the carburetors. Getting 40+ minutes per battery, and charge time is less than 2 hours. Power is fantastic as it allows me to cut tall grass, hay, and heavy brush. Glad I found it!!!
