1st off I have to say that Mowers Direct was very good about fixing the problem I had with a damaged caster wheel. The mower itself is a very good lawn mower. Works excellent. Starts right up on a 1/2 A-pull.

I Think I Know Why It's Discontinued!

The mower runs ok and with some tweeking and experimenting you can get the cut height right. After a month of owning it, I can say the engine starts and the transmission work fine, as you would expect of a $450 mower after a month. But that is where the good news ends.
The handlebars are set to a ridiculous height and angle for the type of drive engagement it has. If you are taller (I'm 6'1") it works just OK. My 12 year old however, who is big for his age, has a problem keeping it going steady because of the angle. He arms are never resting because the angle will force the weight of his hands down activating the drive.
Now add the fact that the PLASTIC engine shroud will not lock down and vibrates off, the plastic wheel covers have vibrated off, one handlebar T-handle bolt is stripped or the threaded hole is misaligned because it only screws down about 2 turns, the grass blows out all around the bag making a mess (mostly on the operators shoes and an included cable clamp (shock its plastic) pop's off constantly.
That's the 1st month. Not a HUGE problem. The shroud is "Decorative" so I just tossed it. The cable clamp got replaced with real cable ties, problem solved. The wheel covers are plastic and decorative so who cares.
In general all of those things just tell me CUB CADET is a LOW QUALITY, LOW VALUE HIGH COST company. This thing cost $450 and has more plastic parts than a Yardman from Walmart. Bottom Line, steer clear of Cub Cadet and DO NOT let 12-year-olds pick mowers because they have a pretty color and "Cool Front Wheels".

Buyer Beware

I bought this for the zero turn capability. This feature would work much better if the back wheels were larger than the front. I hate that you need to pull the blade choke to the handle and then push the handle forward to make it move. This mower is made for a perfectly flat yard. Which mine is not. I had to keep the wheels locked in the forward only direction to stop this thing from bouncing all over which defeats the reason why I bought this in the first place.
I'm used to controlling my mower and not the other way around. If you have arthritis and your yard is perfectly flat then this is the mower for you. I've used this mower twice and just not a fan for my yard. I pulled out my old craftsman that was on its last leg last year and because I knew I was buying a new mower this year I left it out uncovered in the yard all winter long. Fired up first pull. Great quality again just not for me.

Everything I Was Looking For

I have arthritis in both hands. This mower is unbelievable. The ergonomics of the handle and the ease of pleasantly walking uphill or down. The speed is so easy to control by the simple pressure of your thumbs. It's a dream for anyone with bad hands. I'd imagine it's just as perfect for those whose hands don't pain them as well. Downsized from a Bad Boy 60" because we moved. I was afraid to mow the lawn here without my rider the first time. Now I don't care if the grass gets overgrown. I simply walk behind and this mower has no issues blasting thru long wet grass. It's a home run for any size or slope yard that's worth walking.

Well made, love the pivot wheels. Only issue is that the mower blows grass and dirt out everywhere even with the side shield on or with the grass catcher on. So you have to wear safety glasses or get a face full of clippings. Starts great easy to maneuver.
