Love This Snow Blower

I live in Montana, and this is a must-have! It arrived quickly, and I did have an issue with the packing. Contacted Snow Blowers Direct and they assured me that if anything was damaged they would replace the items free of charge. There was damage on a cable, and they quickly sent me a new part - very professional. This item is a little expensive but worth every penny. I could not find a better price anywhere else.

We had about 30 inches of snow, and it was good. It wasn't easy, but it took it away. I need to put the weights on the back

This blower moves the snow very efficiently. Berms at end of the driveway, NO PROBLEM. It's nice being able to utilize my mower year around. It used to take about 45 minutes with a walk behind blower, now takes about 10 minutes.

I used it the first time, and it worked great. Lots more snow coming this weekend. Nice to be able to use my mower year around. I thought it might be harder to install but not bad, a couple of hours by myself.

Well, I have used this snowblower about 10 times now. So far I have gone through a dozen shear pins and had to replace the main drive shaft once because it sheared instead of the shear pin. Cub Cadet should be ashamed of this product. They basically took their walk behind snow thrower designed for a 13HP engine, added two extra slow motion augers to extend the width of the blower to 42in then allowed you to hook it up to a 22HP lawn tractor without beefing up any of the drive components. Very poor engineering. The only thing that does not damage it is light fluffy snow. Packed snow and wet heavy snow are very hard on it, and you must be very careful when cutting through what the plow packs in at the end of your driveway. I could have paid someone to plow my driveway for less than what this poorly made snow thrower cost. Very disappointing purchase, very poor support from Cub Cadet.

I purchased this last summer with my lawn tractor and I have finally had a chance to use it a few times. Overall, I am very pleased with the snow blower. Assembly and attachment were pretty straightforward and painless. The operation is easy and intuitive. Performance is great. We finally had some serious snow last night and I spent an hour or so clearing my driveway, which is about 40' wide by 100' deep. I had drifts about a foot to a foot and a half high and the snow blower had no problems clearing things off. It will really chuck the snow too. At the highest arc setting it lofts it about 25' high and 25' to 30' over. The discharge chute had great adjustment and holds my setting really well. It definitely works best in a straight line. You can steer to a certain extent but straights lines work much better.
I have the XT2 and have no problems with power. I put the counterweight kit on as well as chains and I'm going to have to get an additional weight. The kit came with one but I'm still a little light on the back end and have traction problems from time to time. I highly recommend the cab enclosure as well. It makes the job much more enjoyable. Overall I'm very satisfied.

Not Good On Gravel Driveways

Forget about using this on a gravel driveway. The skid shoes are not wide enough to lift the augers up when encountering an incline and large aggregate gravel will jam the auger, break the shear pins, and cause other damage if it gets to the third stage impeller. I will be adding a wider base to the skid shoes in an effort to make this snowblower useful as I have already ended up sending it to the dealer for repairs after only a couple of hours of use. I'm rather disappointed.

Worked very well for me. It's heavily built and thought I would get stuck a lot being that it's front heavy, but I did not get stuck due to tire chains, wheel weights, and 4 gallons of liquid in each rear tire. No problem checking oil as the hood opens just enough. The first time I used it I was very happy with the results. I cleaned the snow off my machine and inspected the auger pins and everything was okay. The second time using the blower went very well and I didn't even realize the second stage auger pin was gone. When I was done snow blowing I cleaned the machine and found the missing shear pin. I replaced it with a pin from the bag of pins that comes with the machine. I had trouble with the pin being too fat so I filed the outside of the pin and tapped it in. To avoid this again I bought a bag of Cub Cadet pins. I really hope it doesn't eat a ton of pins and am ready for next storm.

First, assembly is more difficult than I expected as some of the mounting holes can be a bit difficult to access. The good part is that most of the difficult assembly only needs to be done the first time you mount the snow blower, so it's only a one-time issue. The best part comes when you use it. It's a really great product. Easy to use and boy does it ever throw that snow. Worth every penny and adds value to my lawn tractor that would otherwise sit unused for six months each year. I highly recommend this snow blower. It's worth every penny.
