The second time I used my Cub Cadet in about 8" of snow the reverse cable snapped and I had to have it repaired by an authorized dealer.. I had to pay $75.00 to transport it to the dealer and warranty covered the repair costs..major headache on a new purchase..

Tracks are much better then wheels

We had a snow blower with wheels and it just did not work with our steep large driveway. I was unable to push it up the driveway as it would spin out.
We got our new snow blower one day before the first big storm of the year. My husband just had his hip replaced, so that left me to snow blow our enormous driveway. All went well the first day. I was able to maneuver it and I did not have to do any pushing to get the snowblower up the steep driveway, as the tracks propel it for you.
The problem came two days later. On Saturday, as the snow continued to fall, the snow blower's track popped off. I tried calling to get help, but there is no one working or answering phone calls on the weekend. I Googled how to repair the snow blower, but there was no self-help on how to get the track back on. The directions for the Cub Cadet did not explain anywhere how to get the track back on, or why in the world it would have fallen off anyway.
After several hours, much frustration, and being stuck out in the cold, my husband (5 days post-op) and I were able to put the track back on. Since then we haven't had any problems, but I am leery of this happening again. It would have been great to have someone who could answer questions.
SBD RESPONDS: We're sorry you had a difficult time getting the track back on. You may want to talk to the folks at Cub Cadet Technical Support, toll free, at 1-877-282-8684 to find out how to prevent it in the future.
Unfortunately, most tech support services are available during regular business hours or a little later- we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced.

The more you learn about this machine the more impressed you'll be. The more you use it the more you'll love it.
Chews through 2-3' drifts like a hot knife, turns effortlessly on a dime like a bulldozer, starts always with one pull if you follow the instructions and use stabilizer in the gas. The joystick chute control is awesome!
Just a lot to love.
