We had this installed with the construction of our house 6 years ago and it has been reliable, durable, and quite helpful during interruptions in the electric supply: especially during springtime storms when keeping the air conditioning running is key in hot Texas.
It is relatively quiet when running and easily serviced for preventative issues like oil changes and air filter and battery replacement. The internet connection and available app for phones has been useful as well.
After hearing it run a few times during power outages, several neighbors have had generators installed for their homes as well!
We highly recommend this unit and would get it again.

Even though we have not had any power outages since my generator has been installed, I am very happy with the generator. The installer showed me how it would work in the event of a power outage. I love the connection to the internet and being able to change settings and get alerts. Living in Texas, I am now ready for hurricane season. The ordering process was very easy and the representatives were very helpful. The delivery went smoothly. Overall I had an excellent experience.

When I ordered the generator and automatic transfer switch I was told it would be 3-4 weeks for delivery it arrived in 2 weeks, fast delivery. It was installed May 5th and on May 15 we had a power outage generator fired up in seconds.

I have an electrical background, so the installation was easy for me. I had a couple of load shedding questions and Cummins Tech Support was very helpful. The only critique I have is the following: I am supplying the genset with propane. Obviously, I have a long duration run time problem. It would have been helpful if the genset had a "vacation" mode. Some kind of option that would cycle the cycle the genset off for a couple of hours, then on again. If I'm away for a few days, it would save a lot of fuel. I'm going to have to engineer some kind of timer.

It took about 6 months to get it here but once it got here I am glad I waited because the quality of build is great the ease of installation was great and 3 days after install we had a 4 hour power outage within 10 secs we were up and running no muss no fuss we could not be happier!!

This is my second purchase of a Cummins Generator in the past 4 months. In my previous review I stated that I would not purchase this generator again because of the poor customer service at Cummins. Well when I started to look for generator that was not 20kw I discovered that Cummins was putting the same size engine (900CC) in their 13 KW generators as in their 20KW generators. The only difference in the units is the size of the Alternator being powered by the engine. The other Brands were using smaller engines that had larger fuel (Propane) consumption for 50% load.
Generator Direct service is still very good but Cummins does not even let them know the Generator has shipped until after you have received the product. Cummins has made improvements in their Install guide. They have also made some changes in Propane connection site and made the changing of the generator from Natural gas to propane very easy. Be aware that they are going to send this generator to you in an 18 wheel semi truck with a lift-gate. If you live in a location (as I do) that an 18 wheel truck can not turn around or back in or out of you HAVE to have a solution for your situation.
Notifying the shipper of your problem and asking them to make the final delivery in a smaller truck is frivolous at best. They Do NOT listen or understand. This is a 500+ pound unit on a Pallet that requires pallet mover on a Dingo or 3 strong men. So we have a very well built Generator compared to others, and American Made quality for me became priority over Cummins customer relation help line problems.

Purchased it as standby power for an upper end home. It blended in well and the owner was satisfied with the product. Installation was pretty easy with an existing transfer switch, although we did have to call tech support and change a setting on the generators control panel to allow us to use it with a standard 2 wire control instead of the Cummins transfer switch. Runs a little noisier than I would like, but I think it is average for generators in this price range.

This generator replaced a previously installed generator of a different brand that failed (shorted stator) way too early. It was a bit more complicated to install, and perhaps a challenge for DIYers who've never installed one. But once up in running, it has many features that make it superior. I highly recommend connecting to internet and using the remote features. I also installed the load management kit and it all worked like a charm. I look forward to many years of peace of mind.
