I read numerous reviews of other brands before purchasing this saw. Many of them detailed problems such as poor quality control, difficulty starting, etc. This started and ran right out of the box and enabled me to clear downed trees and harvest firewood for our log burner. Couldn’t ask for more.

My old chainsaw was difficult to start and prone to overheating and shutting off. I did some research and asked around, Echo was recommended and sounded like a good dependable saw. My brother in law has three, including one over 20 years old. He used them to clear multiple trees after the hurricane in Englewood, FL, this past year. I took his advice and I am very pleased. This saw is a compliment to my Timber Wolfe. It's great removing limbs after the tree is fell, and smaller trunks. If I ask a buddy for help, I provide them the saw. Do not buy this expecting more than it is. It is a 31 cc saw that uses a semi-chisel chain. Light and easy to use. My CS-590 is 60 cc and uses a full chisel chain. Very aggressive saw.

This saw starts easily and is fairly lightweight. I just wish there was an adjustment for the amount of bar oil being supplied to the chain.

This saw will not stay running. Took it to a chainsaw repair to set timing and they said to return it. Not what I was hoping for or like the one I owned 10 years ago.

Great little saw. Chain Saws Direct delivered it the very next day! I have several other Echo products so I know Echo quality. I also like 5 year Warranty! It came with a bar cover and saw tool. I bought this one as a gift for a family member.

I believe another reviewer sums it up quite nicely. This is a reliable lightweight chainsaw that is built well. Fires up in one to two pulls. Cuts without effort. The tension and chain oil control are easy and consistent. The price is perfectly aligned with performance.

I was looking for a smaller saw to use to limb trees. This saw fits the bill in every area. The initial startup is quick and easy and subsequent starts are accomplished with just a flick of the wrist - just that easy! This saw is very light and powerful. I was looking for a limbing saw with a shorter bar, but I'm thrilled with this 14" bar length, which precludes bending down as far and, obviously, is much easier on the back. For its' size, this saw has plenty of power. I have used it, several times to fell and work up trees a foot or more in diameter. I was so impressed with this saw that, after a couple of months of use, I bought the ECHO Timberwolf 20 inch for the larger trees. Both saws are excellent in all respects. They are the "Dynamic Duo" of saws....exactly what is needed to process the winter wood.
