I have owned 2 Echo hedge trimmers, a 152 & 2020. Both have quit working properly with a scored cylinder wall due to something. I received 3 years service from the 152 and only 2 years from the 2020. No more Echos for me.

Sorry to hear that you haven't been satisfied with these Echo trimmers. Echo provides a 5-Year Consumer and a 2-Year Commercial warranty on this model. If this is being used in a commercial application, a 2-3 year lifespan is probably typical for trimmers in this price range.

It will shave a bush very quickly. You have to be careful, so you don’t gap the shrub.

This is my third Echo product. I had an old B&D electric hedge trimmer before, which lasted less than a year. It was time to get serious. I’m getting older, and tired of playing games with foreign-made junk. Mowers Direct gave me an excellent price and fast shipping. I opened the box, put in my oil gas mix, primed the bulb 8 times, and fired upon the 3rd pull. LOVE I
I am cutting through my bushes in record time. It is quieter than I thought! The weight is very balanced in my hands, and lighter than I would have thought possible. Best of all, it has very thick and precision cutting blades. It's made in the USA as far as I can tell. I trimmed 5 bushes the first time around, and still had plenty of gas in my tank. I cannot say that with my other branded gas blower..... 5-year consumer warranty!

I try to only buy Echo. The quality is excellent, and I have other equipment made by them. I have shopped for other trimmers. I don't like battery because it seems like I always end up replacing the battery. expensive. The model 2020AA is light for its size. It starts easily and cuts through hedgerows, etc with ease. Just make sure you have a pretty exact 50:1 mix oil/gas (easy). That is typically what causes a running issue. Buy it, no more cutting through extension cords!
