Third pump like this in 28 years. Gets up to speed faster than the previous pumps. Slight design difference hopefully is an improvement in efficiency.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with you pump. Based on the troubleshooting info in the owner's manual for a motor not starting... 1. Open switches, blown fuses or loose connections; 1. Check switches, fuses and connection.
2. Improper connections to motor. 2. Make sure connections are tight.

If you're still having issues after trying both of those to get the pump running, it would be best to contact the Franklin Electric @ (800) 348-2420. They're be able to go through some additional steps and advise on next steps for Warranty.

Franklin Turf Boss 70 GMH 1-1/2 Hp Sprinkler Pump

This is a quiet pump, pump chamber hold quite a bit of water so priming has been pretty much just one for my sprinklers - 2-3 days later no additional priming is needed as it has a good quantity of water around the pump. My intake line has no leaks and the valves on the outputs also don't leak so it start right up getting water out my sprinklers.
Appears to be of good quality in all respects.

Good pump

The pump works great. I should have ordered a 2 HP instead of a 1-1/2 HP pump but that was my mistake.

Bought this pump after returning a Red Lion 2 hp. The pump has been working well for about 2 months, easy and clear installation instructions, plenty of water pressure. Quiet, excellent pump.

Silent But Strong
By Eric B.

Installed this pump to replace another jet pump. My well is 1-1/4 draw going to 1-1/2 at pump inlet. At first couldn't stop air leak at cast housing of pump until I switched from PVC to galvanized pipe. My theory is difference in expansion rate from Iron and PVC. Now no air leaks but too much water causing pump to turn on and off frequently. I still need to adjust pressure switch and determine how many zones should operate at the same time.

I wish the info was clearer that a pressure switch was not included with the pump. It would have been allot more convient if it were already wired.

Expert Response
The most likely cause of your pump operating like that is because of the 1-1/4" pipe you're using. For this pump you should be using 1-1/2" pipe from draw to inlet. I'd suggest reviewing the Owner's Manual and try re-installing the pump.

Also, a pressure switch is not something that is normally included with a sprinkler pump. You may be confusing these pumps with a shallow well pump, which look similar and include a pressure switch.
