Manufacturer Review
GenSkirt for GenTent 10k for storage and anticipating outages
By Mark C.
GenTent Owner
Review Posted 10/24/2014
After receiving a GenTent'ed generator pic in the snow from a customer, where only the GenTent main canopy could be seen, and the rest of the generator was buried, we came up with the GenSkirt. The customer had placed his generator in the back yard anticipating an outage due to the coming storm and his message read "I'm ready for an outage"...well, not so much we thought.
If you store your generator outdoors, or if you place your generator outdoors due to a coming storm anticipating an outage, the GenSkirt 10k is something to consider. I turns your GenTent running cover into a full storage cover.
Installation is simple. It slides right over the top of the GenTent and attaches to the genuine Velcro that is all around the bottom edge of the GenTent (under the protective flap).
Never to be used while your generator is running of course, but if you have a GenTent, why buy a storage cover that forces you to remove the GenTent? Simply GenSkirt your GenTent!

It is a great way to protect you generator when running it in bad weather. It is a little difficult to put the skirts on when it's even 20 degrees out.

Works Good

I purchased it, it all came in a small square long box, with no instructions. Had to go online to find instructions on how to put it together. The opening for fuel, since my generator is a top down fuel access, and is near the middle of the unit, makes it extremely hard to refill, I lose a bit of fuel each time because the tent itself is in the way.
I have also noticed that the material is fraying and has even holes in it after repeated use on the unit. Yet, I can find no points on the unit where the generator and the tent itself touch at all. So, unless the heat from the generator is putting micro holes in it, the tent itself is not made of good materials, is the best conclusion I can come to.
So far however, it does appear to work against the rain per se, unfortunately, only have had 2 rainy days in the last 2 months I have owned it, but, expecting more soon, and hoping that the small holes do not cause an issue in the future.

I got it, came together in a single box, I did order the extra storage skirt, just in case. The directions were missing/non-existent. Had to go online to watch the videos, but, other than that, it functions exactly as they state it does. Overall, works very well!

Very happy that I bought this GenSkirt. It's a nice finished look that works very well with the GenTent. It protects the lower portion of the generator when the unit is not in use. Velcro is sturdy, easy to put on and easy to remove when you are running the unit.

Product Questions
Answered by Jared, the Generator Expert
I own a John Deere AC-G8000S and need to completely cover it when not in use. It is 24"H X 24" W X 32" L. It is mounted on a 36" X 36" pad outdoors. I want to protect it from Hail, all weather conditions as well as grass from a lawn mower. What do I need for a decent price?
