This review is more directed at Electric Generators Direct than to Genrac. My generator has 12 minutes of run time...ITS BRAND NEW and came to me with a defective battery that Generac would not stand behind so I guess they are perfectly fine with selling compromised equipment and then saying, "tough luck, sucks to be you" HOWEVER, Electric Generators Direct provided outstanding customer service.When they found out the battery was bad on this brand new machine they immediately refunded the repair/replacement cost to get it up and running. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ELECTRIC GENERATORS DIRECT!!! I'D DO BUSINESS WITH THEM ANYTIME. Generac....not so much!!!

I purchased an 8000E. It has 12 minutes of run time on it, is 3 months old and the battery was dead. I took it to a factory service center where they discovered the battery that came with the unit was defective and will not take or hold a charge. ITS 3 MONTHS OLD WITH 12 MINUTES RUN TIME!!! To make things worse I contacted Generac and they refused to replace or refund the battery purchase saying batteries are not included in the implied warranty. AGAIN, this generator is brand new. The battery did not die, it came to me defective. Think twice and read warranty. These are a major purchase.

Very sorry to hear that you're having problems with your generator. We always suggest testing your generator/battery as so as you received the item. Since this is past 30 days from the original purchase, all service/warranty requests need to be handled by Generac. Starting batteries are not covered under warranty. We do list the warranty on the product page under documents, so that a customer can review it prior to purchase.

The first Generac gennie was purchased in September 2003, got me through numerous minor blackouts, got me through three days of no power with hurricane Irene and two weeks of no power with hurricane Sandy, 100% reliable all throughout.

I am a seasoned electrical contractor with 40+ years under my belt. When I do a portable gen setup I always recommend this generator. It has enough power to keep the criticals running and more. Electric start is a great feature and a long run time with a big tank helps. Easy to move around and covers are easy to come by. Priced right I do about 10-12 gens a year and most are this one. I'll be ordering another soon--right after our next power outage!

Generator was on back order and due to in about ten days. It came in and the company called me to let me know and gave me a date for delivery. The driver opened the box and found no damage. My brother helped put the attachments on. After gas and oil were put in and the generator started right up. We ran it for 5 to 6 minutes. Great generator which I'm happy to have gotten. I am very tired of being with out electric. I feel the price was good for me. I would recommend

This is a great generator and supply company. Directions good. Easy to assemble. Starts right up with pull cord. Have not used electric start yet. Did a power out simulation this weekend. It powered all I needed and then some.

I've had this machine a short time. Used it once so far and was pleasantly surprised how great it worked. It certainly helped to have my electrician, to install the outlet to my electric panel. Totally feeling more secure about being without electricity after any storm....
