Bought 12/09/08. Only used two actual hours, regular exercise and maintenance. Two techs tell me generator is dead. Motor runs good. Will not buy another Generac.

The telephone order person was very pleasant and helpful. Unit arrived as promised, no worries. Installation was neither hard nor easy it was just what I expected it would be. The unit arrived with some loose wires in the factory wiring. Those were tightened, and it performs as expected.

I purchased this generator when we built our new house a year ago and had it installed. So far, it works very well and has no problem handling the load of our entire house. EGD was easy to buy from and everything showed up as they said it would. I was a little leery ordering such a large item from an internet retailer but I had a great experience.
I load test this generator about every 3 months. I think this will last a long time and I am happy with the purchase.

Arrived as scheduled out the back of an ABF truck. You need material handling equipment to move to pad - over 500lbs crated. Connecting ATS was a breeze - installation instructions well written. Setup, function tests (no-load/load), activation all went without a hitch. Exercise cycle kicked off like clockwork on date/time set in controller. Now that all is up and running, I guess there will never be another utility power outage. But if there is.............!!

I purchased a 13 K.W. unit in 2005 & it was unreliable. The batteries were being over charged & blew up (literally) about once a year. Acid ate the case as well as it costing about $100 extra per year. In addition 3 times the armature & field failed costing around $1,500 each time. I am told this new model has corrected these problems. I now have the new model up & running. It is lighter weight, quieter & gives off much less exhaust heat than the old unit. I believe it will also use less natural gas to do the same work. So far I am optimistic.
