Does The Job

Wanted this due to my air compressor is only a 30 gallon didn’t want to run it constantly so I watched a video on YouTube people sandblasting with water worked well just not with finer abrasives. It didn’t come with different size tips, it’s rather large and better for heavier bigger abrasives I also was having to constantly move the end that sucks up the media cause it was using so much so quickly I went through 100lbs of media underneath a 48inch Mowing deck but it was more fine than what I should have been using.

This attachment works great. I blasted the rims on my wife's Honda CR-V, took the rust and cleaned them beautifully.
Also took off my trailer hitch on my pickup, blasted off heavy corrosion, cleaned up nicely.
Just make sure your sand is dry, dry, dry.

I have only had a chance to make a test use of the sandblast attachment. I used about 15 to 20 lbs of sand. My pressure washer is rated 2.3 GPM at 2700 psi so I expected poor results, however I'm happy to say it performed as well as I hoped and better than expected.
Deep heavy rust on a metal patio table took some time to remove but it did it. Paint and light surface rust was removed easily and quickly. I had no problems with plugging.
I have two sets of metal patio furniture to clean and expect it will do that well. I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Absolute Best Thing

ABSOLUTE best thing I have ever purchased in my life. I restore old jeeps, dunebuggies, tractors, and farm equipment. It is a shame i did not know these existed before i started restoring. I will never never never dry sand outside of a self contained unit again!
With one of these you have 10x the removing power and surface area over a dry air unit. There is NO dust!! I stripped an entire jeep frame in 5 minutes with a t-shirt, gloves, and pair of sunglasses!
No dust
No sand in my hair
No huge protection suit
No air breather mask
I don't even have a nice pressure washer. It is a 3gpm 2500psi pump, however the pump froze and cracked. Most the water and pressure leaks out of the pump but it still BLOWS THE RUST away with this kit.

I have a Snap-On 2700psi pressure washer with a less than desirable Chinese engine that had running issues since new.
With that said...The sand blaster attachment worked out of the box. I was told by others to have sand entering from top to prevent clogs from water backup. A hundred times less splash-back of material over dry method.
It is a bit of a sand hog but a moot point considering the speed, ease and cleanliness of paint/rust removal. I would recommend to anyone with a 2000+psi pressure washer that wanted to sandblast anything.
P.S.
The fly ash variety of media has less sharpness when dampened. Regular sand or expensive cutting media cuts best.

When it works it works well.
By John

Review Posted 07/02/2015
Bought this unit to blast the deck of my lawnmower to do welding and repainting repairs.
When this works it works well. Since it uses water, don't even think about using Soda products.
The Quikrete play sand is good for a mild abrasive. If you need to cut rust and paint then you will need something more aggressive. Black Diamond 20/40 coal slag works very well. Tractor Supply carries it.
This is supposedly made by General Pump. I needed an o-ring for the water nozzle part (there are 2) NOT THE BLAST NOZZLE(there is 1). The General Pump rep said he only shows one o-ring and was useless. He lied and said they made this product. How can they make it and A)not KNOW there are 3 o-rings and B)not sell said o-rings.
After some Googling I FOUND who I think is the manufacturer of this product and an exploded view that SHOWS the 3 o-rings.
http://pressurejet.com/systemlistingdetail/172/I/Ts2-05-Sand-Blaster-Brass-Pjs.aspx
Will try and find something close at HD or Lowe's to replace the damaged o-ring.
TRICKS TO THIS UNIT:
Blast vertically when possible. NEVER set the wand down without it being completely vertical or water WILL trickle into the suction line and then you will be breaking it down and cleaning it and drying everything. PIA!
When you do need to blast horizontally then make sure the suction line is ON TOP pointing toward the sky or it will once again get water in the media/suction line and you have to clean it.
With practice you will learn how to use this thing for up to a half hour without stopping to clean it out.
One other thing....shorten the hose when you buy it if you are not pulling media or pulling slowly. It works on venturi vacuum so if you have a pump that's a bit small shortening the hose will help tremendously.
My pump is 3100psi @ 2.5gpm and i took 5 feet off the hose and it works a LOT better now.

Finally...something that works as advertised

Using this with 4000psi Karcher pump and running the real Black Beauty extra fine sand as BB recommends. This thing REALLY removes paint, powder coat and rust without distortion. I must warn you though...it's messy! If you do steel be prepared by having some zinc phosphate readily available (Afterblast from Eastwood) to address the flash rust you will get.
It makes for an excellent prep surface for paint and powdercoat. Last comment is that I turned the suction nipple 180 deg for the suction hose follows the washer wand where I zip tie it to keep that part higher than the nozzle to avoid clogging.

It's the professional model DWSDBTK that has the interchangeable nozzles that fit inside the nozzle holder.

Cons:

I'm assuming my pressure washer lacks enough PSI (1000 psi) or, I'm not using the sandblaster as designed. there were no instructions so, I bought some all purpose bags of sand, stuck the metal end into the bucket of sand. The bucket filled up with water and no sand was propelled.
The water stream was about as strong as a weak garden hose because the opening is very large. Maybe 1/4". This device must need way more pressure than I have. Just to be fair to the people that make it, I'm sure it works fine with the right setup.

The folks at General Pump didn't give us a minimum PSI, but since it's rated up to 3500 PSI it may work best in the 2400 PSI and up range.
