Wish it had a little wider coverage but it did a fantastic job on propane tank in my Jeep. Be sure u keep your sand dry and out of the spray path. Glad I purchased it. Thank you

Can't get the media to siphon from the hose. It starts flowing then sits in the hose. It's not clogging, just not moving in through the hose. Tried different size nozzles to no avail. I have a 4gpm 4,000 psi pressure washer. Any suggestions? More/less pressure? Shorten the hose? Help

Works As Advertised! - Three Helpful Tips In The Review
By Marc W.

This sand blast kit works great. I used it to strip old paint and glue from my driveway and it was a breeze. The materials are good quality and should last a long time.
3 tips to help you:
1. Make sure you order the correct nozzle to match the flow rate of your pressure washer. The nozzle does not come with the sandblast kit.
2. Use dry sand - the sand can have a little moisture in it, but not much. If you have wet sand, spread it out on a tarp in the sun to dry, then put it in a 5 gallon bucket.
3. ALWAYS keep the sand hose side of the sand blaster above the pressure washer wand. If you do this you will not get water in the sand hose and it will not clog.

Great Affordable Alternative To Dry Blasting
By Amal S.

Used it with Dewalt4400psi 4gpm pressure washer to blast mill scale off 4000lb of custom steel fencing. Started with a 4.5 nozzle than reduced to 3.5. Smaller nozzle seemed to use less sand for same result. Media was both quickcrete fine and medium sand. Fine sand worked OK in the beginning but became worthless once nozzle got wet and it began to cake up. Medium grit 20/40 sand work best throughout the process and handled the inevitable amount of water that gets inside the nozzle. I think ditching the quick connect fitting and going to a solid fastener connection would keep sand feed hose from pivoting to the downward position and letting water contaminate.

This blaster does not work at all. The water back feeds into the media and ruins it instantly. I called customer service and was told this was the right model for my machine. After it did not work at all I was told by customer service to call the manufacturer or just buy different size nozzles until I found one that worked. Very poor support after the sale!!!!

So sorry to hear that. Are you using an extension hose with your unit? What GPM and PSI is your pressure washer? The nozzles are required for operation and could be the reason you are having problems with the issue. I know General Pump does have a fantastic tech support line and can be reached during regular business hours at 888-474-5487. However, I will be glad to help you as much as I can on my end here. If you could please provide answers for my above questions, we can see if that will help the problem.

More Than Happy With My Purchase ( worked great)

Was going to restore my old tractor, looked it up on line. Was so glad I read the reviews. The man I ordered it from was so helpful, and I had never used one before.
As soon as I got it I started worked like a champ, not a problem. My pressure washer is only a 3000 PSI but worked great. Would have like to had a bigger one but really wasn't needed.

I cant believe that you do not include the 6 dollar nozzles orifice (at least one) to be ready to use... it's like a car without brake pads... Completely disappointing- buy something, wait for it and when arrives result that i still have to buy more stuff.

I'm sorry you were disappointed with your purchase. We asked the folks at General Pump why they sold the separately, and they said it's because they had no way of knowing which size orifice a customer would need, and including an entire set of nozzles would make the price too high- this way you only have to purchase what you actually need.
We make a point of saying "Nozzles must be purchased separately" in the Features so our customers realize they will need to buy one. The Spec Sheet PDF (under the Specs tab) shows the parts breakout and also lists the nozzle as "Not Included".
You will need to match the Sandblaster Nozzle to the media you select for the job you want to do.

Works Better Than I Expected!
By Chuck S.

The product was shipped very fast and everything was in good order. My review is based on the fact that I am using a gas powered 4000 psi, 4 GPM pressure washer. I also purchased all of the available nozzle sizes.
This is not a super fast process and should not be compared to the speed of those mobile self contained units costing 20 to 70 thousand. I was up and running with this system, a new pressure washer and media for less than $1000. The nozzles are for the water jet that pulls the blast media. By having all of them you can better tune the unit to the media, pressure washer and the item to be blasted.
I have used this on heavy items like frames, rear axle assemblies and on automotive sheet metal. I have used crushed glass, sand, blasting soda, glass bead and coal slag. Blasting soda and bead or crushed glass produce the least flash rust and coal slag produces the most on auto sheet metal.. The use of soft or hard water had little affect on reducing or increasing flash rust. As coal slag is a little less than $15 for 100 lbs. it is the most cost effective.
Glass beads and soda worked great on original paint but slower on body repairs epoxy primer, heavy filler and fiberglass repairs. Crushed glass is more aggressive and I do not recommend for sheet metal as it cuts in too deep. I have found using coal slag on sheet metal at an increased distance and angle works well. By drying with and air gun and a light sanding with 220 greatly reduces the flash rust. It will also remove any blasting marks.
The key to steady blasting is dry media and the position of the media hose and pickup pipe. Starting with a 5 gallon pail tilted works great. Make sure the hose is straight as possible Eventually you should build a custom hopper that will feed the pickup pipe for smoother operation. I disassemble and clean the sand head every 50 to100lbs. of media. This will removed build up of wet media (especially soda) and give your pressure washer a break.
When this is going well you won't want to stop and your pressure washer is going to be under full load until the media supply is exhausted. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Hello,
My pressure washer is only 3.5 gallons per minute and 3800 psi, will this kit work for blasting rusty barn steel to prep for paint? Or is it maybe better to get the dsdbk1 that's for smaller washers? Or does it even make a difference what kit I get with the gpm of my washer being what it is? And most importantly will either one take all rust off barn steel? Thanks

I have a one story 4 unit apartment building that’s about 2500sq and the parking garage is 1500 sq. I need to wet sand blast the paint off the stucco before I re-stucco the 2 building. I was thinking of renting the presser washer and buying the attachments for wet sand blasting.
Can you tell me how big a presser washer I will need, the attachments, tools, what type of materials and about how much to wet sand blast both building?
