Great Genset
By Brian
West Coast, California
Purchased 05/28/2020 |
Review Posted 06/19/2020
Being subject to the vagaries of my power company's ability to supply power during our summer fire season, I bought this genset to power individually power my freezers and refrigerator if they decide to cut power due to a high wind forecast. The shipment arrived to the West Coast as scheduled with an undamaged box. Pulled it out and added the required oil (not supplied) and gassed her up. Pulled the starter cord and she fired up on the first pull. Honda continues to impress me with their small engines and I now have a preference to buy equipment powered by Honda. I like the built in GFI's and will probably utilize the genset for running electrical equipment in the field.

Started burning oil after the first tank of gas took it to a certified repair dealer he told me there's nothing wrong with it call to other dealers they made excuses that they wouldn't be able to look at it a third one wanted money up front to look at it. Apparently nobody wants to deal with Honda warranty work why is that ?????

Expert Response
Very sorry to hear you're having problems with your generator. We've been selling this model for a while and haven't had any issues. As an online retailer, all warranty service is provided by a local dealer. Honda provides a 3-Year Warranty on this model. If you're not satisfied with the support you received from your local Honda dealer, I'd suggest contacting Honda directly @ (770) 497-6400

The power grid in Puerto Rico is unreliable. The power outages are frequent and can last for hours and even days on end. This unit is dependable.

There's a reason Hondas are expensive - they're simply the best. One pull to start, each and every time. The eco-throttle is a great feature - at most of my loads, it never runs faster than the eco speed. Easy to handle into my truck bed, runs forever on little fuel, and is a fine machine.

Nice Quiet Inverter

Review Posted 12/08/2018
Bought inverter to use for power outages. Found unit to be light enough to place in truck bed and power lawn tools without long cords. My neighbors don't know when i am running the inverter so I don't need to worry about thieves trying to steal it by listening during power outages. My local Fire Dept. bought an identical inverter to use on accident scenes with lights and to power battery chargers (radio and computer) during power outages.

Good Generator
By James D.
Jonesborough, Tennessee
Purchased 04/20/2018 |
Review Posted 05/13/2018
Like any Honda, it starts on the second pull from cold. Very quiet. The ECO throttle drops the rpm down in the mid 2000 range. I can run a saw or large drill....it bumps up to full rpm for a split second, then drops back low rpm while the tool is running. Fine piece of equipment.

After looking at many generators I decided on EB2800i. No local dealer had one in stock so bought online. Arrived quickly and after opening box and adding gas and oil it started on the second pull. Amazing but as a Honda product what do you expect?
