Generator was delivered as promised. Starts as promised. Operates/runs as promised. Reliable as promised. Quiet as promised. Simple to operate as promised. In summary, it meets/exceeds all expectations. My brother-in-law works/plays with the Sports Car Club of America and has used this model generator for many years without any problems. He recommended it and so do I.

I bought this generator along with the companion generator and cable. Received it in 3 days. Filled them with oil and gas and they started right up. Worked flawlessly till the power came back on. 15 hours. A couple days later tried to hook up the Bluetooth to my android phone. It recognized them but the only thing it would do is shut them off. I called EGD and they gave me Honda's #. Honda gave me a local authorized dealers #. I talked to the tech and he said I would need to bring them in. So I decided to hook them up on my Ipad and it works great.

Actually it came with a hit at the lower left corner in the front faceplate. The box was in good shape so I think it was a poor quality at factory.
The idle was rough, I replaced the spark plug by a new Bosh Iridium and it helps the idle a little bit. I end up cleaning the carb main jet and it solved the issue so far. I also own a EU2000i and compairing both, the 2000i is smoother by far.

Followed the instructions by putting the correct oil in at the proper level. Added gasoline. A couple of pulls and the generator was running.
Took it out on it's first camping trip to keep up a nice charge on my trailer batteries. So simple to use and super quiet. Highly recommend this generator. It was the most quiet generator in the campground.

When ordered from Generators Direct the shipping and delivery was timely and communication good. When I opened the packaging, read the directions, added oil and fuel the generator started after only a few pulls. I did, however, notice that I could not turn the choke completely to the off position without the generator stalling. Even after allowing the generator to run for several minutes I could not turn the choke off.
I downloaded the Honda app and applied a load to the generator and found that it would only produce just under 1000 watts before lugging. I checked the choke lever and the carburetor jet for obstructions and found none. I then took the generator to the local Honda service center where they hopefully repaired the issue as they called today and said it was ready.
When I asked what the issue was the service manager informed me that they had to clean the carburetor as it was evidently "gummed up" with old fuel. I am now out $100.00 for a repair I would not have expected on a new unit! I don't hold Generators Direct responsible but I will question ordering online engines again.

After having a Honda 3000 I was a little disappointed by the gas consumption of the 2200’s. Although in comparison it was probably about the same but with the limited gas capacity I was constantly refilling them.
They started easily for a recoil start but I was spoiled with the electric start of the 3000.
The weight was better being approximately 48 pounds as compared to the 3000 model. I also was pleased with the size of the two units for transporting with my RV which was a plus.

I am a new owner, but researched the purchase of this Honda EU2000i generator for many weeks before purchase. I knew it was the best and after just one month of ownership I am not disappointed. To be fair I should write a review after owning it for four years, not one month.
One issue I have noticed....while breaking in the generator during its first twenty hours of operation, it runs hot, meaning the exhaust port is still quite warm one full hour after turning off the generator. This strikes me as unusual. Not to say something is wrong, just unusual. All in all I think it is a beautiful work of engineering and craftsmanship.
Another issue: I have a decibel meter and measured the decibel levels. I don't know how Honda can claim 58-63 decibels. They must be measuring from twenty feet away. When I measure directly above the generator under no load, it measures 75 decibels without eco throttle engaged.

Please Note regarding dB levels. Honda states on their spec sheet **Tested in accordance with ISO 9614-2, sound pressure level calculated at 23 Feet (7 meters) using the front plane of the generator (control panel side) per ASHRAE Handbook 2017.
