I bought this to replace a nearly 30 year old 828 and am very happy with the purchase. We've had snow so I've been able to use it. My only disappointment is that the version I received does not have a fuel gauge. I wouldn't have thought this to be an issue however, I ran out of fuel while helping a neighbor clear their driveway. It made me realize how handy the gauge was on my old 828. A quick glance at the gauge and you know what you're in for. I know I'll miss having a fuel gauge and that's why I gave the features rating only 4 stars.
The height adjust lever is a great feature. I have to move snow from both asphalt and gravel so this feature is great. The finger steering is nice for turning if you have a long straight-away, but it doesn't work as well to control the blower on slushy/icy surfaces or when you are maneuvering tight areas.
Electric start is awesome. The chute joystick takes a little getting used to and it doesn't turn as fast as I'd like in some circumstances, but some practice should result in adequate chute management.
I have read that this thing performs well in slush, but maybe slush in other parts of the country are not the same as the Sierra Cement that we get up here. This thing does bog with the dense, wet, heavy snow that we get, even at about 6" deep.
I will leave this review with a shot out to PED. Pricing was right, delivery was ahead of schedule and customer service was very helpful.

I Don't Know Why I Waited So Long To Buy A Decent Snowblower
By JAY A.

I had a commercial Toro with wheels. It was OK, but it liked to ride up on the snow and not scrape down to the concrete. I threw a couple of 50lb sandbags on the front, and it helped, but it wasn't perfect. And if you pulled up on the handles for more downforce on the front you'd lose traction. I just got sick of manhandling the thing and bought this.
It's like 25% as loud. The tracks have amazing traction, it scrapes all the way down to the concrete. And, you can adjust the height with a button, something impossible with a wheeled unit. And with that height adjustment, you can pull up on the handles which will put significantly more downforce on the front if needed. The battery electric start works great, extension cords suck especially if you have to drag it out to the shed. I did spray everything that I thought could rust with CRC Marine rust inhibitor. And I added an inductive hour meter.
The thing is a monster going through snow, and goes through stuff faster than my Toro would have.
I do wish that the electric chute motors were faster. The joystick on the Toro did work great and it was fast. This is slower by a lot. But that's really my only complaint. I might add some extra LED lights up near the handlebars.
I will probably never need another snowblower, but if I do, it will definitely be a Honda.

Worth The Investment

Haven't used the 928 yet as I ordered this early in September to ensure I had it for the snow season. Previously owned a 2002 era 724 which was fantastic. Honda made significant improvements since then (joystick, track turning controls) which are meaningful. Yes, very expensive, but a long-term investment. I'd rather buy good once than buy bad twice. Ordered online and showed up in my driveway in less than a week at the best price I could find. What more could you ask for?

Very Impressed!

I have owned many of the major brands of high-end snow blowers. They were all good machines. I was blown away by this Honda snow blower. When I unpacked it and started it up, I was very impressed by the build quality. The controls are very intuitive, and I love the fact that you can operate the hydrostatic transmission without disengaging the auger and the drive system. The construction is rugged. The track system seems to work very well and is surprisingly easy to steer. Yes, I ran it around in my driveway this Fall.
I am especially impressed with how well the height adjustment on the blower housing works as well as the electric shoot. I bought the track model because the wheeled model wasn’t available. I’m glad I did because I am going to be clearing snow for our two small dogs in our back yard when they go outside, and I didn’t want to clear the snow all the way to the ground. I have not run this through snow yet, but I am certain that it will do the job! I’m excited and looking forward to the first snowfall!

I got it out of the crate today. Read the directions, put gas and oil in, and it fired right up. Several neighbors came over to ogle it. I haven't used it yet, just drove it down the ramps off of my truck. Hoping I get to use it a lot this year.

A Well Built Machine

I got an early 13" snowstorm and put it to use. The controls are all handy and easy to operate on the move. The hydrostatic drive makes speed adjustment very easy when plowing into a pile. It did all that was asked of it.
The only issue was at the bottom of the snow shoot. The snow was a very light powder, and it was blowing all over as it entered the shoot. Covered the bottom 7" with a sheet of aluminum, and the problem was solved. Probably not a problem with denser snow. Ours was like feathers.

I Love My "Beast"

I wanted to wait until we had a wet snowstorm that dumped more than 6" before sending my rating. This machine was wonderful. It blew the soggy wet stuff right off the driveway, over the piled 6' of snow, cleared the way, and the chute never needed cleaning. It is so easy to use, and that makes me very happy. The only feature I miss from our old blower is the heated grips when the temp falls below 10 degrees. I will add that we have a 400' driveway, and I am well into the "senior" range. I might even let my husband try it!

This Snow Blower Is Truly Outstanding

I have owned this Honda for three snow seasons. Our annual snowfall is around 500 inches. Over the weekend we received thirty inches of snow, and this was no chore for the machine. With the tracks, I am able to go up and downstairs to clear my sidewalks and deck that are at a different level than the driveway and front door. Truly amazing and a real work saver.
