Replacement for existing

There are lots of pumps on the market but I know this once is long lasting and is the proper size and configuration to operate in the overflow tank. Started right up and works like a champ (2 weeks). The installation was super easy since I was replacing a similar Honda pump and could reuse the existing fitting for the discharge hose. If you want a seamless installation make sure your discharge hose is compatible with the fitting that comes with the pump or you already have one on hand that will work.

I have installed this model pump 3 times since 6-6-12. 1st unit ran till 7-15-15 (3 years), second ran until 1-3-19, 3-1/2 years. This last one has run about 1-1/2 years. I'm not happy with the last one. Switch is failing. However, they all run longer than Home Depots or Lowe's pumps. Anyone got a better switch than Honda?

This pump is ready to use, no assembly. The float switch can be fixed to constant on, or come on when water reaches a certain level. It is quiet, low vibration. I was concerned it wouldn't have enough power to pump water through over 400' of pipe to water my livestock, but it does a great job. It's made in Italy.

What a high quality pump for the price. Be aware the head pressure isn’t the best for a 80 foot pipe run but as long as you slope to grade you’ll have no problems. This pump is highly recommended for smaller sump installations.

I bought to use in back yard for heavy rains. I have a pit about two feet deep near house. I hope to pump water from yard thru hose to street. Hopefully, this will reduce water going to basement sump pump. I have not used it to date. I wish the float was more vertical to reduce width of sump.I think the instructions could be more clarified to set the float coming on

Pond Pump

This is an Ebarra pump, made in Italy, now owned by Honda it appears. For us it is used as a pond fountain pump on a 1/2 acre farm pond.
Under constant use, the pumps goes out about every three years. The last estimate I received from fountain company was around $750 to replace the pump. Forget it. I'll do without the fountain for that price. While looking around for pumps at PED, a window popped up offering this one. At this price, I'll fix the fountain!
These are all stainless steel pumps with sealed bearings, and lucky for me to find one at this price. Note: best not to turn off the pump while submerged for any length of time. Corrosion will build up on the drive shaft and blow the bearing seal. If the pump is running, it can't build up.
Also, sometimes water will finally infiltrate. There is a weep screw on top of the unit. Unscrew it, drain the water, dry the pump, and put it back in service. If the unit runs on a GFI, water infiltration will be detected immediately, and the pump can be saved. The GFI is cheap insurance.

The water pump worked great with Irene! The only trouble hole not big enough for float to go up can this be adjusted? When ordering I told the rep it was going into a 1/2 gallon bucket and he said I shouldn't have any trouble.....

Expert Response
On page 10 of the owner's manual, there's instructions on how to adjust the float switch. When using a submersible pump with a switch, the largest size bucket/pit/basin should be used for proper operation.

Given that this is stainless steel, would it hold up in a pit where my water softener dumps into or would it corrode and fail?
