This mower is the perfect mower for a homeowner with acres to cut. The mower deck is fabricated and is like a section of armor. This was an issue with the old stamped decks. I cut eight acres, and the terrain is rough. This mower is an upgraded version of the Craftsman T-3000. With the 42" deck it is the best mower for slicing through high grass and weeds. My wife says it drives like a Cadillac and is anxious to ride it.

I never thought I'd hear that! I believe the life expectancy of the deck will outlast the actual mower. The mower is easy to use and drive, especially with the newer choke and blade engagement. For the money, you can't go wrong. I really got a lot more than I was expecting. I was taken back at first with the price but I'm not anymore. I'm very happy.

This is Mike, the husband, lol. After much research, I elected to buy this mower. The uncrating, set up, bumper install, and just getting to know a new mower took a few days. But now that it is set up properly, mowing is a breeze. The 22HP engine has enough power to cut wet grass. We have had a very rainy year in Virginia Beach. The electric PTO, hydrostatic transmission, and reverse mowing is an interesting transmission from a fifteen-year-old yard tractor. But I love it. With a fabricated mowing deck, cast iron grease fittings on blade mandrels, this is the last mower I will need while on this planet. Changing the engine oil, with a good grade of synthetic oil, servicing tractor, keeping it clean, a service life of twenty to twenty-five years is my estimate. Good bang for the buck.

Ok... First off, Mowers Direct rocks. Husqvarna needs a butt whooping! Out of the box, tires inflated to nearly thirty PSI, next, the steering wheel was off by thirty degrees, next, the front roller rattles when the mower is at a stationary idle. Moving onto the bumper install and no mower manual or parts diagram. After going online and downloading the manuals, having them printed, and getting the bugs out, and cutting my yard a few times, I can honestly say that this mower in my fifty years of cutting the lawn is the best mower I have ever had! Side note, I am using the YELLOW Kohler oil filters, AMSOIL 10W30 small engine oil, and AMSOIL synthetic grease. This mower should out last me! Good bang for the buck. Quality beats the heck out of the Big Box store mowers.

Thank you for purchasing the YT42DXL and am sorry to hear about the set-up pains you had when setting up the tractor. The tires on your tractor were over-inflated at the factory
for shipping purposes. The manuals for the unit and directions to help install the accessories such as the front brush guard are available on-line so that you can have a hard copy on the computer and print off copies at your leisure if you misplace the ones you printed off. The front roller may cause a little rattling noise when the mower is not engaged with the ground but this is not uncommon or a performance concern. This is the front scalp wheel and needs to have some play in it and able to roll to help prevent your mower from scalping your yard. We are extremely happy that this is the best mower you have ever had and hope that this mower will help you enjoy mowing your yard for many years to come.

I love this mower. Out of the maybe 12 riders I've purchased, this one is the best (and most expensive). It took some initial set up with the anti-scalp wheels (and I do wish it had four and not just two on the front). The mower deck is AMAZING at lifting the grass and cutting it. And I am VERY DISAPPOINTED that there was ZERO grease on the axles and wheels. Really!! The best time to grease these is during assembly. So the third time I mowed I started hearing a squeak...! Not good. So I ran it in the shop and pulled all the wheels and greased them. They were all dry.. bone dry. Quite a bit of iron shavings came out of the right front wheel/axle. Not good. But it should be fine now with copious amounts of axle grease packed in there.

Had a small rock or something get into deck clutch? Took it in for warranty and all was ok. When engaging, deck motor died. The belt clutch thing was an issue.
