First Air Compressor

This is my first air compressor and I bought it to run air carving tools for sculpture work. It seems to be a nice mid-range compressor and can run my tools effectively. It was easy to unpack and setup.
I wish it would have come with a quick connect attached already, as I've seen many others in this price range have. Also, and I know this is common, but why don't these come with an easier way to drain out the water? Reaching under is a pain, and now I need to purchase yet another attachment to make this easier.

Nice Cast Iron compressor for the money.

Nice economical compressor. It seems rugged and no leaks on threaded fitting out of the box. I only use it for an ATV lift table, tire inflation and blow off gun so it should last a long time. Pretty quiet and it looks easy to install an intake silencer onto if one is creative. Overall nice compressor and shipping were very fast and the carrier driver was very helpful.

So Far So Good

With limited use, I like it. the compressor does take a long time to reach full pressure from empty. Once at full capacity it works very well and provides plenty of volume. I tested it to see how well it would work to blow out a sprinkler system in the fall. I set the regulator at 50psi and used a blow tool wide open and the unit held at 90 psi for the duration. We’ll see what happens this Fall.

Great product, delivery was a bit of an issue. The first unit came damaged and had to send it back, the second unit was fine. Needed to order a new side tank plug to be able to tap directly into the tank volume for connection to my shop tubing system. Once up and running, it's been a perfect fit for my DYI shop.

Super Duper Piece Of Equipment

After debating thru a ton of manufactures I choose the Industrial Air compressor due to the reviews. I had a Campbell Hausfeld 20 gal, oil-less air compressor for 15 years, I used it for everything all the time, yes it was a fairly decent compressor till it blew up for the second time, but WOW was that thing EXTREMELY NOISY. You can hear it in the house from in the garage.
Ordered an Industrial Air compressor 30-gallon belt drive, vertical model #ILA1883054 came with oil in it and relocated the drain valve for easier access. Did the break-in period, piped up and let her run, all was well, did the leak test on all components and no leaks observed, extremely quiet, sounds solid and durable. I am an industrial mechanic by trade and I know quality when I see. This is a nice piece of equipment and I hope to get many years of use out of it.

The Right Compressor For My Workshop
By Steve H.

Purchased 11/10/2017 |

I have spent hours and hours over the past couple months looking for a compressor that's quiet and strong enough for a little more than household work. I'm replacing lubrication free model that now starts so hard that it throws the 20A breaker 50% of the time.
I read the reviews before purchasing this unit, and agree with all the pros and cons. The cons being the bottom drain's proximity to the ground, and the fact that they could have actually made it quieter with a simple 'sponge' type filter on the input. I currently have a 'band-aid' solution of cable tying a contractor sponge in front of the input filter.
It would be nice if the compressor kicked in a little earlier than it does, but it hasn't affected its performance, as I haven't done any heavy duty work on it. The pressure goes to 155psi, but doesn't kick in until it gets down to 120psi. I'd prefer a 15lb differential, but haven't found a commercial or adjustable replacement.
The unit DID NOT arrive damaged, it's NOT heavy, and after spending the hours and hours of research, feel that I purchased the right product for my relatively simple needs. If you're planning on sand blasting, or doing some other air intense project which lasts more than a tank of air, the compressor might not keep up. For driving nails, staples, filling tires, blowing things off, it's THE perfect quiet compressor for the job.

Impressed So Far

At this point I haven't had much time to use the new compressor but I did run it through the break-in cycle and test it a bit. I did a lot of research before selecting this size and this brand of compressor. I have a spreadsheet filled with pros and cons of many brands and models.
This unit is much quieter than I expected as I've been using smaller oilless units for many years. This one runs very smoothly. It takes about 8 minutes to charge up to 155 PSI (max for this unit) but is able to recharge as expected (about 2 minutes from 90 PSI back to 155 PSI) and the tank holds pressure for 24 hours without a problem.
I was a bit concerned about shipping it to the house since I used to work for an LTL trucking company and know how much damage can happen in transport. This one arrived via a well known trucking company without even a mark on the packaging.
The only down side to this unit is the bleeder valve. It's at the bottom of the tank and I can't reach it without tilting the unit backward. I'll add an extension later to remedy this but it's a very minor complaint.
Overall I have to say I'm highly impressed.

I'm looking for an upright wheeled portable compressor with an aluminum, stainless, or other rust-free tank that produces at least 5 cfm at 90 psi and that won't trip a 15-amp breaker if used with an extension cord.
