This Ingersoll Rand 2-stage unit is a workhorse, designed for locations with three-phase power. That makes it great for heavy shop or industrial use since it can handle high-demand tools like sanders and impact wrenches with ease.

The cast-iron pump & belt wheel will provide reliable service year after year. We like that Ingersoll Rand pre-wires and tests each unit before it ships- making sure you get the dependable, durable air compressor you expect.

The 7.5-HP 80-Gallon air compressor will provide the reliability and performance for all sorts of applications including automatovie service and body shops, fleet maintenance, and production and manufacturring line with the precision engineered components.

Ingersoll compressor

I see some negative comments especially one about a plug that was jammed as he says. Sounds like the end of the world. Reviews are supposed to be subjective and something that sounds like taking one’s frustration out. One little plug that he should have checked out before installing the unit. All the way to one star?? Needs to grow up. I have been using mine for 15 years without any issues. I have owned several different brands and types of compressors.

What A Disaster To Be Polite

Bottom screw on Fitting was jammed in, leaking and blew out under pressure... nobody got hurt, thank God. That off course happened after the unit was completely installed, all plumbing, electrical etc...

Assembled in America, well, there we go, total miss, no Quality Control and truly dangerous I will go out of my way to never buy a Product from those Scammers again.

After two hours run time the compressor quit working. They came and replaced some internal valves in the pump. Two days later same thing. To make long story short they replaced the pump, so far so good.

Car wash power
By Scott
Rock Port, Missouri
Purchased 01/26/2013 |
Review Posted 02/16/2013
I had run my car wash with a single phase, single stage 60 gallon compressor for the past five years, having to rebuild the pump twice and replaced it once.

I went with this larger compressor and so far it's much quicker to recover, runs much less and hopefully will result in lower utility costs.

The only thing I hadn't considered was the additional pressure and the impact it would have on all of my other regulators on the equipment. After the damage was done I bought a 3/4 in and out regulator and adjusted it to 120 psi.

Now the compressor recovery time is even less and the other regulators like it much better. Not thinking of that beforehand was an expensive error on my part. The overload starter protector appeared to be defective but after several jabs with my finger it started up and has been trouble free since.

I would recommend this compressor if you need this amount of air on a consistent basis.

Kinda let down :(
By Russ B.
Sanford, Florida
Purchased 06/07/2012 |
Review Posted 08/10/2012
Ive always bought IR compressors because of the quality build. This 7.5/80 I bought has an incomplete weld around the main bulkhead on the front of the tank and leaks from a small pin hole.

With about a week of run time on it the flywheel bolts came lose and made a hell of a racket until i figured out where the sound was coming from.

I run 3 shifts a day and cannot take the compressor down for any length of time so I run it with a leaky tank. I tried contacting the rep in Central Florida and never got through- no answering machine or nothing .

Very depressing for me after being a solid customer with high standards :(

Anyone have a valid contact number for Florida reps ?
