Very happy with this compressor, it should last us many years. Installation was a snap- the on board motor starter is a big plus. We reset the pressure level from 170 psi to 140. Overall we're happy with the machine, and the value.

I purchased this air compressor, hoping to use it in my residential garage. I received it, and I love it, but came to find out that I don't have the power needed to hook it up for use in my garage. I contacted air compressors direct, to do a return/exchange for an unused, brand new, I didn't even put oil in it, air compressor, and I am willing to pay the 25% restocking fee, per their policy, and they WILL NOT accept a return, on their own product. I don't suggest trusting a company, that doesn't even follow their own policy.

Expert Response
This compressor was built to order & shipped directly from Ingersol Rand. The customer told us that he has partially unwrapped the compressor & altered the shipping pallet making a return impossible. If a return were possible, the customer would be responsible for the freight shipping costs to & from Ingersol Rand in addition to the restocking fees. We suggested contacting a local electrician to have a phase converter installed, but the customer does not want to do that.

Air Compressors Direct was great --- Ingersoll Rand was not!

Purchased this item from Air Compressors Direct, and it was shipped here quick! Used the select oil and change intervals recommended for the 2 year warranty. The compressor was having trouble keeping up with 1 DA sander and seemed to be running a lot more often.
I called the service rep, and a tech came out and said it was probably the valves ($750.00) and not under warranty. I wrote a good review not long after I installed it but later the service, warranty, and Ingersoll Rand products are awful.
The good thing is they will keep the scrap yards going.

Made in the USA?

I have used Ingersoll-Rand air tools for over 30 years. They are the standard by which I judge all other air tools.
So I had high expectations when I purchased this compressor.
I purchased this compressor because of the IR brand and the fact the ad said it is made in the USA.
Of the three main components, the compressor pump is made in India, the drive motor is made in Brazil, and no one wanted to take credit for the tank. I haven't found any parts made in the USA yet. So I will assume it is just assembled here.
When it arrived, oil was leaking from the sight glass on the pump. It was a little loose. After snugging the sight glass and filling it with IR compressor oil, I turned it on and it seems to work fine.
I found the fit and finish to be a bit below par for an IR product, but then I do hold them to a high standard.
Overall I expect it will be a good compressor.

"Made In The USA" is a legal definition, indicating that at least 85% of the parts come from the US. Ingersoll Rand products are assembled in the US of globally sourced components, so we could only say "Proudly built in the USA".
