We love this compressor, purrs like a kitten, had to swap out the auto shutoff with a 125 psi, this shuts off at 175 psi and is not adjustable, was 30 bucks for the part was super easy to swap.

Great product. First paid with echeck, but they wanted to wait to ship it so I had to cancel and then pay with credit card. I think they still waited to ship it, but it got here mostly quick and now my plant is up and running again. Great value.

The Good And The Not-So Good
By Chris G.

For the most part, I love this compressor. I bought it just over a year ago and it has been a work horse for me.

As I've seen in other reviews, there does seem to be a little lag in the delivery time from IR but 1 day seems like an eternity when your production is cut because of a lack of working equipment. The other bad thing is the tube from the Compressor head to the after-cooler was bent and damaged in shipping. As I thought this was only cosmetic and I needed to get up and running, I straightened it and got on with my life.

Here we are, 14 months from the date I received it, and the tube has failed at one end. This is due to the stress that was created when it was bent in shipping then bent back by me. The part is an unbelievable $85 locally and as I need the compressor and can't seem to find this part online I have to do it.

IR really needs to firm up their packaging at soft parts like the copper lines, it's a liability.

I'm sorry you had a couple issues with your purchase. We say that this unit will ship from IR in 7 to 14 business days (that's Monday thru Friday, excluding holidays). You chose to send us a check which, as we explain on our Pay By Check page starts the countdown once we receive your check and it clears.

The check delay pushed your ship date into the Christmas holiday, when many manufacturers shut down for the week between Christmas & New Year's. We updated you about that, and emailed you with the tracking information once the IR folks returned.

There is a very short window to report shipping damage; typically about 10 days. That's why our invoices ask our customers to check and report any damage as soon as possible. Unfortunately that window has closed.

We appreciate your business, and apologize for any inconvenience.

Wrong Product Shipped & Super Poor Shipping

review 4 image 1
Ordered compressor due to an urgent need as our old compressor failed. Waited approximately 2-3 weeks for new compressor to arrive. When it did finally arrive it had shipping damage to the main copper fill line. Called to report damage. After having to take several more photos of all the serial numbers on the unit, I was informed that not only did i have shipping damage, but they had shipped me the wrong unit.

When I asked exactly what was wrong with the unit they would not tell me, only to have them ask me if i was happy with the unit and wanted to keep it. As it was damaged that answer was no, but also since the said something else was wrong, why would I want to keep it.

Unit was re-prepped for shipment and sent back.

About a week later the second unit arrived and it was shipment damaged in the same copper tube as the first unit only in a different place.

As I inspected the unit further.......looking for why they said they sent the wrong item I discovered that the entire cooling condenser assembly was left off the first unit. Why could they not of said that in the first place instead of asking me if I wanted to keep the unit? Seems a bit deceptive at this point.

We have now been down over a month. So this time they just sent out the bad part and we installed it ourselves to help save more down time.

There was no offer of a discount for all the time and trouble spent on getting the correct and good unit to arrive. Not to mention the month of production down time all this lack of quality control and poor shipping practice called.

Our website says this unit ships from Ingersoll Rand in 7 to 14 business days (Monday thru Friday, excluding holidays). You placed your original order on 4/11, and the compressor shipped on 4/14, the 3rd business day after you placed your order- faster than promised. Your compressor was delivered on 4/20, 7 business days after you placed your order.

The confirmation email we sent to you, and our Return Policy ask that customers "Do not sign for damaged products. If your product arrives damaged, please (a) REFUSE DELIVERY and (b) Call Us Immediately so we can process the appropriate claims and coordinate an exchange for you." This is because shipping damage isn't part of the Factory Warranty on the unit, and we want to get a replacement sent out to you as soon as possible.

Ingersoll Rand overnighted the part you needed to you at their expense, even though they could have insisted on your filing a damage claim with Conway. I understand your frustration, but Ingersoll Rand has done what they could to help in the circumstances.

We appreciate your business, and apologize for any inconvenience.

We just went on-line today (5/14/13) with our new IR compressor and are very happy with it so far.

However, we do have one bone to pick with Air Compressors Direct. In the features listed for the Model # 2545K10-VP (Value Plus Package) we ordered, Air Compressors Direct lists that this model has " Low Oil Shut-off: Yes " and the unit came from the IR factory without a low oil level switch. Air Compressors Direct needs to correct their website to stop misleading their customers. We looked on the IR website and only the "Premium Package" compressors come with a Low Oil Level switch.

Besides that oversight we are glad we bought this IR compressor from Air Compressors Direct.

We have changed the Specs for this unit so that it matches the 230V & 460V listings for this part number. Back in September we did an item by item review with our Ingersoll Rand sales rep, and we all missed this- please accept our apologies for the oversight and any disappointment you've experienced.

We appreciate your business and thank you for letting us know!
