Seems to be a well made product it feels a heck of lot more durable than the cheesy plastic pedestal model that it replaced.The only issue I had was with the frequent cycling which was resolved with an HC8000T timer switch.

Our sump pump cycles every 30 seconds during the rainy season and every 30 minutes during a drought. If the pump doesn't work, the basement floods. I used to buy cheaper pumps but they failed all the time. This one is dependable. The attached vertical float keeps the float from getting stuck too. I love this pump and always have a spare one in the garage ready to go if needed.

This pump is so quiet that you will be able to sleep at night. Our pit is located just below our bedroom and paired up with the Camis CC00SL15 it is undetectable upstairs!! It is worth the extra money for the silent valve if you can afford a few more bucks to do so. I use 3 of these silent valves in all of the pumps I currently have in use.
I originally wanted to put three of these Liberty pumps in my small sump pit but after getting it home noticed the float free hangs just beyond the footprint I planned but no big deal as I plan to still get two of these babies in the pit eventually.
Right now this one is sitting next to my Wayne pedestal pump(discontinued) and one 1/2hp Watchdog submersible hangs above the two with a bar across the pit. I have a total of 3 main pumps right now and they all will be used at the same time when I have heavy rains.
Next year, I will likely add another Liberty in the pit with two Watchdog's hanging above them by using two bars. It will be a dream amount of 13,680 GPH being removed at a 10 foot head height. I will keep you informed in the future. Good luck in this season everyone! Every new season seems to bring more than the last you know? Make it a great day.

Compact Power with a Long Cord and Quiet Performance

While seeking to replace my long-serving Liberty Pumps 257-1 with a new more powerful model, I came across the 287-2 with its 25 foot long power cord (the 257-1, like all Liberty Pumps with the -1 designation, has only a 10 foot cord). I bought the 287-2, installed the PVC elbow piping from my 257-1 model for a perfect match requiring no modification (nice!). Now, rather than having a scary wire connection in the sump, I ran the 25 foot cord (minus the snipped plug) through the existing underground conduit and connected the pump to my power source. The pump drained the sump pit in record time and was very quiet. I'm sold on this product and so happy that Sump Pumps Direct carries Liberty Pumps with the 25 foot cord. And guest what - I've found that Sump Pumps Direct is one of the few providers that carry the 25 foot cord model. Sump Pumps Direct - you're my new Go-To provider!

When I received the first pump it was damaged during shipment. I called Sump Pumps Direct expecting to get a run around. What I got was great customer service. I explained what was broken, he checked inventory to make sure they had another one, emailed me a Fed Ex pick up slip and it was picked up the next day. I received another one within a week and it is running fantastic. You can buy pumps from a number of suppliers, but good service is hard to come by. Thank you
