Exceptional Jetter Conversion Kit
By Mark S.
Florida
Purchased 06/09/2023 |
Review Posted 07/03/2023
Purchased the MTM Jetter Conversion Kit to clean out 75 foot lanai micro drain. I purchased a separate rotating head…exceptional performance, blowing and flushing out a fully sand packed drain. I operated the jetter at 4000 psi…drain is completely cleaned out. Love it!

Excellent Attachment For Cleaning Clogged Pipes
By Jesse F.
Hanover, Pennsylvania
Purchased 07/20/2018 |
Review Posted 09/05/2018
Outstanding performance. Really does an excellent job when attached to a 4200 psi power washer. The holes in the head are really small and the pressure blows the debris out. It's so strong it crawls down the pipe and you can feel where the obstructions are. No drain pipe will ever be clogged around my properties.

Labored Victory
By Matt H.

Review Posted 06/09/2017
I usually don't write reviews, but this was a major victory for me.
We developed a clogged drain in our basement floor just downstream from our kitchen sink and where the washing machine dumps the dirty water. I had a plumbing company come out to snake it ($99), which they did, but they told me that there was "cholesterol", a black sludge that clings to the inside of the pipes that will close up within a week. They were right, it closed up in a couple of days. They quoted me $850 to "jetter" the pipes.
Not wanting to pay the $850 I started doing research. I found this kit (MTM Hydro Jetter PW conversion kit) for $150. I also bought the "General Pump Sewer Jetting Kit w/ ball Valve & 3 stainless steel sewer nozzles" for another $100 (this addition was key due to my pressure washer PSI & GPM (2,800psi & 2.8GPM), the nozzle hole sizes need enough pressure to be effective and the proper nozzle sizes come with this kit. the ball valve and fittings were helpful too).
I had to buy more fittings and I had a small length of hose made (another $100), but it worked and I saved myself $500 and I have a sweet jetter rig for use any time I might need it. I battled and battled. At first I was defeated, unable to open the "cleanout", I sent the jetter through the washing machine exhaust water (trapped) dump. I finally was able to open the proper "cleanout" by cutting the old brass fitting out. Then I pushed the jetter in and out for 15 minutes - and it worked! There was a clog at the bottom of the "stack", years of stuff clogged up right there. The hose self-feeded into the pipes 20' or so.
This was not easy! I am a handy guy, I opt to buy the tools and fix stuff myself instead of calling-in the professional all of the time, but this job was my most frustrating. I felt defeated several times. But I kept trying and finally I found the clog, broke it up and cleaned the pipes.
All in all, it was a $350 gamble. But I emerged victorious!
I would recommend this and the complimentary kit as well.

Call A Plumber

Hooked it up to a 3000 psi 2.7 gpm pressure washer and spent 30 minutes in a pipe that runs about 20ft from basement bath to main in the garage, had no luck. Tried two more times 30 minutes each and had no luck. Was really hoping this would work.
Ran a snake prior to this and it didn't work either. Time for the camera. I can't rate this fairly till I get the camera in there.
The pressure was strong with the tip that it came with but the spinner tip that I purchased separately was weak.

This worked just fine- as advertised.
Twice I used it to clear a blockage in the lateral line. Then I got lucky and ended with a seamless line to the main.
Problem is gone forever, I hope.

Did Not Work For Cleaning 4" Drain Lines From Gutters
By James H.
Houston, Texas
Purchased 07/22/2016 |
Review Posted 08/15/2016
Bought it to clean out clogged 4" PVC drain lines from gutter downspouts to curb. Front spray was very weak. Back spray flushed out some leaves. Hose too stiff to make 90 degree bends in piping.
Worked Ok from curb up to first elbow. Hard to go from downspout towards street due to friction from stiff hose trying to bend at first elbow below downspout.

Expert Response
I'm sorry you didn't get the performance you were hoping for. You didn't mention what the GPM and PSI ratings were for the machine you used.
This kit is rated up to 4000 PSI & 4.5 GPM, so an effective range should be around 3000 PSI and 3 GPM. Since the spray is divided between the front clog cutter and rear debris mover you need a fair amount of water power and volume.
Please remember that this is intended for sewer cleaning, which usually won't have sharp bends in the corners.

It Works!
By Ron V.

Having just paid the professional plumber $350 because my sewer line stoppage wasn't due to predictable roots in the line, but an enormous "plug" of toilet paper and waste, I resolved to get the MTM Hydro jetter for my Honda pressure washer I use for cleaning boat bottoms.
Except for the fact that I couldn't get the quick release fitting shown on your illustration above to unscrew and was forced to apply heat to it to free it, it all went together.
I would supply your customers with some tips on the best use practices: Insert the pressure hose line into the sewer line until it encounters the stoppage and before activating the pressure flow. You don't want high pressure water at your clean-out adding to the mess. You want it at the problem spot blasting through the plug and then back out flushing the buildup through the cleared line. We figured that out and it worked like a champ.
I suspect our conservation of water to minimum use has contributed to our line problems by not flushing out accumulations. We are also seeking easily broken down toilet tissue (septic tank type) to minimize the obstructions.
I'm pleased with your MTM Hydro Jetter though i don't consider the task as entertainment. I would recommend it. I do wish there were more choices of hose lengths. 50' is too short 100' too long.
