Gets The Job Done

We have a willow in the front yard - big biomass producer. That and the usual pruning builds up quite a pile every year. I bought this patriot recycle the best of the brush into mulch for the garden. And it really does the trick. The instruction manual is very detailed - thank you for this. Also have a slow-speed grinder to rotate out and sharpen the blades - great recommendations by the Patriot developer - per the user's manual.
The first time through, I worked with a buddy so that we could familiarize.Only mistake we made was not watching the bag fill. So it jammed once and blew the house fuse. But that was our own newbee lack of awareness. We learned a lot about clearing a clog that way. It was good to see first hand and hands on carefully clear the clog. It was back fill from the bag - again our own first time through expectations as we developed awareness. Moving forward, we now lay out a big tarp to spray the chips on that, then use the bag to bring the chips to the trees we are mulching around - really nice bag.
Holds enough to surround one good-size tree at a time with mulch. We have the electric version and it's got great torque. The goggles that come with the kit stay in my shop b/c we use full safety helmets with ear protection and face guards. But we do use everything provided, and yes, the detailed instructions do come in handy. The wheel balance and handle for moving offer great mobility - thank you for these. More after I get through a full season.

I resharpened my old blades several times, using a small belt sander. Eventually, the blade profile rounded and couldn't be made really sharp anymore. These made my chipper perform like a new unit.

Chipper blades appeared to be genuine Patriot Products blades. Although Patriot Products does charge a lot for their chipper blades, I was able to get them a little cheaper here including shipping. I am completely satisfied.
