Pico X20 Assembly
By Joseph D.

Purchased 02/06/2020 |
Review Posted 03/04/2020
During assembly, the two pins that connect the frame to the body could not be installed due to the holes in the frame not matching up with the holes in the body. Once I beveled the pins, I was able to install them. The trailer tongue is very difficult to raise due to the weight of the engine/vacuum assembly being close to the tongue. Unfortunately, Peco does no offer a trailer jack for the x20 or x30, which would solve this problem. To resolve this issue, I purchased a scissor jack to raise the tongue during installation to my tractor. Other than that, the quality of the product is excellent. So far, I have not been able to operate it since I still have snow on my lawn.

Wonderful System But!!!

I would recommend this unit if there were better hose clamps instead of the wires that were provided. The clamps do not keep the hoses on.

Nice but not so connect friendly

I bought this machine to take care of the leaves for an acre and half , plus help the neighbors , the whole concept is pretty simple but I found it impossible to hook up boot to lawn mower discharge, still haven't figured it out and I am very mechanically inclined, I will probably make a custom sheet metal boot to make it work, I bought the wand and that's what I've been using, it is awesome, EXPENSIVE for a hose.

I have a 1968 allis chalmers/w left-side sidedischarge. machine cme 3/4 assembled dicharge boot is only dor rt-side discharge. I made my own boot, turned the motor 180% on the mount and everything else hooked up fine. The machine works great. Very impressed. wish the the trailer was bigger as it fills up fast. machine is well-built. should last a long time.

Unit Started first pull.

Purchased unit for a 1.5 acre yard surrounded by trees.
unit ran well, with the occasional hose popping off of peco box. One issue we had was the hose connector to the Vacuum unit was NOT fully tapped, I had to purchase a Tap to finish thread so the it would hold in place, secondly the bolt for this was not provided, so I tapped the unit and had to purchase bolts everything worked very well.

good product

It took a bit to set it up and a few modifications need to be done. The instructions to put it together good be improved. I ran 52 loads so far and the shoot that connects to the mower cracked. I put a 1/4" plywood 5"x8" with JD weld over the crack and hope that will stop it from cracking apart.

Will order a new shoot soon. Motor starts and runs great. I have a 60" zero turn should have got a larger unit. When the grass/leaves are wet I do not take a full cut. After the first 3 loads it was easy to use.

Peco 20 vac

Assembled easily, the mower discharge chute was a little big, but it works. My unit(the 20) is a little small( but I knew that) so it means emptying more frequently. Overall it's a well built unit that works great. Leaves are still work, this machine just makes it easier!

The Peco 20 lawn vac., showed up on the freight truck on time . and to my surprise it was partially assemble . The rest of the assembly was a snap . in the reviews that I had read prior to my purchase had me a little gun shy , stating assembly was a nightmare (not the case ).

Maybe the factory has changed the way it ships it's products do to some prior feed back , anyway it's good now. Now in regards to the Quality and craftsmanship , well they simply set the bar extremely high . As a retire metal fabricator , I was pleasantly surprised with the hole package .

To fit the boot properly to the mower deck I used some semi stiff cardboard to establish the vertical and horizontal cut out profiles , if you goof up on the cardboard you can grab another piece and re cut , worked very well . I highly recommend

singing in the rain

I have a 1 acre lot with downwind leaves from the neighbors added to the mix. Assembly was not hard. There was no indication in the instructions about cutting the hoses, or if they were supposed to scrunch. I cut them. I have a John Deere. The universal boot on the PECO unit requires the Deere chute cover to be removed bolts and all. This leaves a cut away with the blades dangerously exposed.

OK with PECO boot on, dangerous with it off. Lots of situations call for changing back and forth. I opted to saw off the optional John Deere bagger chute I had, since I hope to never use the bagger again. Worked fine with some kluging.

TEST RUN REVIEW: It rained yesterday, so the leaf cover was wet, but I wanted to try the PECO 20 out and why not stress test? Fired it up, engine turned right over, then it started raining again. No problem, worked perfectly with a clean/green sweep, in wet leaves and even with pretty thick wet pine needles. Nice! Wish list: 1. Better fitted chute, but my kluge job worked fine. 2. Some way to see leaf level inside the box. 3. Third wheel to hold up the hitch to attach. Its heavy and hard to hitch and un-hitch.

All in all, looks like a winner. Will report back after multiple uses.
