Power Equipment Direct Opens PEDplex

BOLINGBROOK, IL (May 17, 2007) - Power Equipment Direct continues its expansion by opening a new distribution center dubbed the "PEDplex."

"Geographically, we've simply moved less than two miles. Operationally, the new PEDplex will provide the breath of fresh air necessary to fuel our growth," said Jon Hoch, founder and CEO.

The new facility in Bolingbrook, Ill. is four times larger than the old warehouse in Romeoville, Ill. Since it was specially designed to optimize space, the PEDplex can store nearly 8 times as much inventory.

The PEDplex also features expanded office space with a non-traditional design. Upon entering, visitors encounter a 250-gallon fish tank that's built into the wall. The salt water fish tank acts a window, separating the lobby and conference room

Since most Power Equipment Direct employees work from home, Hoch insisted on creating a relaxed work environment. This was achieved by selecting a welcoming natural color scheme and furniture that blends with the company's existing prairie-like outdoor setting.

"We wanted to create a space that employees would enjoy coming to, even on a cloudy, winter day," said Hoch.
