If the Basement Watchdog 1/2HP model BW4000, or some of the smaller combination systems that we offer doesn't quite make the cut for you as far as pumping capacity, this system will fill the void. The primary pump offers a very capable 3000GPH and the battery backup pump will handle 2400GPH at a 10-foot head. Not bad for a system at this attractive price!
Besides the Pro Series' exclusive monitoring system that "watches" over the battery functions and detects irregularities, it pinpoints problems and sounds alarms as needed, this system also includes their own pump controller model DFC1 with caged dual float switch, for redundancy and extra added protection.
This system is designed to operate with one or two Basement Watchdog model 30HDC140S batteries and will operate the 12-volt pump for up to 7 hours continuous with a single battery or 24-36 hours non-continuous. You can double those run times with a second battery if you choose.
I'm giving this system our recommendation rating because it's a great contractor grade system and it also includes a 3-year warranty.

This unit arrived damaged because it shifted in the box breaking the plastic strainer on the bottom of the backup pump. I called the company and explained the situation. They sent me a replacement part, no charge, which I installed without any problems. I followed all the installation instructions and was able to install the unit myself. When I powered up the backup controller I was amazed how loud the cooling fan was in the unit and that it appeared to run continuously. I called the company again and was informed that it does run continuously but would cycle up and down. I have found this to be true but I wonder why this is not explained in the use and installation instructions. It appears all other issues and requirements are fully described and explained, or at least time will tell. Sump Pumps Direct was very professional and advised me of every step during the shipping and delivery process. Delivery was delayed one day because of bad weather but I was advised accordingly. I would have no problem recommending Sump Pumps Direct and Glentronics to anyone needing a sump pump.

Very pleased with this system. Installation was a breeze and looks super clean having only 1 discharge pipe coming out of the pit. Control unit fan does cycle on/off as needed, contrary to other reviews. This system is also ridiculously quiet. My previous unit had the quiet check valve so I was nervous reading some reviews, but I can't hear this unit at all. Love the fact the back up will run on AC power in case the main pump fails. Only negatives are for the price, I feel the wifi module should also be included and the control unit is pretty basic.

2nd Time Purchased

I ordered the Glentronics Sump pump in Feb. Had it installed in March. The fan in the control box started making some loud horrible sound. It happened 2-3 times. Then it would stop. So, I videotaped it and reached out to Glentronics for warranty & support. I was told that the fan in the control box was defective and had to be replaced. They acknowledged that it was defective. So, we talked back & forth via email. He wanted me to ship the current defective control box to them so they can fix it or replace it. I told them to ship me a new one and then I can ship the bad one back. They informed that they do not have one to send me. Really? That's odd. You don't have spare control boxes for warranty replacement when your product failed after only a few months. Very irritating & annoying. So basically, they wanted me to ship it back and therefore, I would be down to one pump. The control box is tied to the 2nd pump should the first pump fail. We have had crazy rain in NE Ohio. There is no way I was taking a chance. So I had my plumber provide me a control box until mine was fixed. This is my 2nd Glentronics Sump pump. I replaced the previous one after 5 years. It works well and I’m very happy with it. I just expected better customer service from Glentronics.

Had To Redrill Weep Holes - Caused Airlock
By Eric S

Review Posted 04/21/2023
I installed the unit and tested by filling my sump crock multiple times and testing the primary pump, backup pump with electricity, and backup pump without electricity. Everything seemed to work.
Recently had a major rainstorm that sent water gushing into the sump crock and was notified that the backup pump had engaged. Opened up my sump crock and found the primary pump was running but was not pumping any water. The unit ran all evening on the backup pump (never lost electricity) and the backup was able to keep up, so that was impressive. The pump ran about every 20 seconds for the first few hours and it was able to keep up.
The following day I removed the whole unit and inspected the primary pump and all check valves in the system. Everything seemed in good working order. Reinstalled the system and the primary pump would run one time and lock up. I repeated this process 3 times and each time, the same result.
Contacted the manufacturer and was told it had to be an airlock. I asked about the weep holes that came pre-drilled with the unit and was told that they should be proficient.
After watching other video on airlock, I decided to make sure the weep holes were open and to the correct size. The manufacturer states a 3/16 hole in each pump.
I don't know if the holes were drilled or moulded into the plastic, but when I drilled them with a 3/16 bit, I was able to remove material from the backup weep hole and a considerable amount of material drilling the primary weep hole.
I have had no issue since I redrilled the holes and the primary pump pumps an impressive amount of water in a short time.
I would have to recommend that you redrill the 3/16 weep holes upon any installation.

Poor Quality Control Process From Manufacturer

Below is my experience as to why I would never buy a sump pump from any online site again and have another plumbing company install it. I spent $900 on the pump and ended up calling the plumber 3 times and had to pay him full fees even though he did nothing due to the broken parts and poor quality control of manufacturer
Received the Pump from SumpPumpsDirect by mail. Plumber came to install the pump. On inspection, he found the strainer broken. Had to pay him $165 for just 10 minutes as his fees whether he did any work or not. Contacted SumpPumpsDirect. Requested them to ship by expedited mail. As luck would have it my prior pump started giving problems and weather was turning bad. After multiple follow ups, the manufacturer shipped it by Snail mail USPS and had to wait for nearly 10 days.
Plumber came again and after starting the install saw that the backup sump pump's float switch was broken. He installed the primary pump. Paid the plumber $165 2nd time. Called SumpPumpsDirect again and complained. Again part took around 10 days to get.
Plumber came 3rd time. Paid $165 again to fix the float switch. Just praying nothing else goes wrong with this pump in the future and there are no more hidden defects.
All this while I was on the edge as my basement was finished and it was raining. Manufacturer showed no sense of urgency or regret. It was like we have a 48 hour process we will follow before we can update and that it set in stone no matter what customer is going through

I purchased this pump from Sump Pumps Direct and love it. We've had the worst rainy week here in the last 2 years. The pump is triggering once a minute right now. My concern is that is not good for the pump. My pit is narrow but fairly deep, so each cycle is only pumping maybe 2 gallons. The 10 second shut off is not the issue as the pit is pumped dry. Is there any other float options, to allow more water in the pit before triggering. I have the float as high as possible given the piping and too high of course will affect the backup float.

Comparing this to the Liberty combo. Liberty states it has solid handling. My washing machine drains into my sumo pit so that includes lint from clothes...can this pump handle that? And also, what battery choices are recommended for back up?

I recently purchased this pump Unfortunately after a heavy rain with both pumps running I still had an overflow. Would running separate 1.5 discharge lines for each pump increase the GPH capability? Seems like the Y in the lines might create a bottle neck?
