Puma Must Hire Unhappy Electricians

Other than it was wired backwards by a disgruntled employee on Friday. Once I found an electrician that was able to decipher the magnetic start in conjunction with the on-off switch auto-off deal. It’s an awesome compressor that runs my plasma cutter like a champ. This is my 2nd Puma compressor, 5hp-40gal and the new compressor is 6hp-80gal, I love them both now!

Stay Away

I ordered this compressor, but they sent the wrong model (5hp). If you’ve already ordered, check the numbers, not just the paperwork. The customer service is lacking and I only got results after going through PED. Now I am getting bills from the shipping service for liftgate service ($120) even though they say no charge for liftgate. The shipping company says someone “typed” it in. They have no problem taking it off, but you have to get someone from PUMA to send a request for that. After waiting almost a month to get this unit and all the trouble, I would say it was my worst online purchase ever. I highly recommend using PED to purchase from anyone, but if you want a PUMA like I did then for sure.

I Can Finally Get To Paint!

This is my second PUMA and my old one is still going strong. I got the 6.5 after almost a month, because the first one sent out was not the correct one. That being said I would highly recommend Power Equipment Direct aka Air Compressors Direct. They were easy to work with a very responsive to the issue. This is a well made (USA) product and has some items that are only found on more expensive models. It runs fairly quiet and cool compared to others. If you want to save even more money the 5hp that I received first looked to be a quality product as well and had a substantial 5HP motor. The drivers at FEDEX who picked up and delivered were pros.

Initial Impression

I looked for a good compressor for the better part of a year. And could not decide on a reasonably priced compressor for my needs doing auto restoration work in my garage. I probably read about every compressor on PEDs site. I almost went to a competitor (until I read some reviews) and came back to PED.
I found the Puma 6.5 HP and knew this was the one.
Works as expected and runs all my air tools without a hitch. I was pleasantly surprised that it only required a 30 Amp breaker and # 10 wire. As far as noise, it's not bad, can still hear the radio and talk without screaming.
Delivery was great, the driver brought it right to my garage (my driveway is 1/4 mile long) and helped me jockey it to where I needed it to be.
All in all a great deal and great service.
Thanks PED

My compressor

I bought my compressor from PED. When I received it was damaged, and had a sticker on it identifying that it was damaged. I asked the driver from the trucking company about it.And he didn't know who put the sticker on it or if it was damaged. Trucking company refused to come down my street.I had to drive a forklift down a public street. Then when I get there it is damaged.

Called the trucking company the guy had a personality of a pet rock. So I called the company PED. And talked to a girl named Patty. She apologized about the trucking company and ordered me a new part. It wasn't anything that would affect the compressor from operating. The part came in a couple of days later.

And it looks brand new. PED was excellent to deal with. The trucking company was a nightmare. If I order anything else from PED. I will ask who the delivery is going to be with before I order make my purchase.
