I purchased a new Simplicity Broadmoor yard tractor late last year (2011) because my 15 year old John Deere was needing some expensive repair.
As a kid, I mowed up to 28 yards a week in West Central Illinois and soon after getting all this business, realized I needed a realiable machine. My Dad suggested a trip to our local Simplicity dealer where I first saw and tested a new Broadmoor tractor. Armed with my new 8 hp manual start engine, I sat out to begin my lawn mowing career.
This machine mowed perfectly and was just the right size for my jobs. I soon added a snowblower and began working year round. All was well for years, as I realized that I could trade my current unit in for a new one and I did so each year.
Fast-forward about 45 years and you will find me still mowing yards with a Broadmoor. Yeah some things are nicer now, like electric start, hydrostatic transmission and even a cup holder, not to mention cruise control and push button height adjustment.
I really like the way the Broadmoor mows, basically picture perfect. In fact and in my mind, I think I easily win the local neighborhood Simplicity tractor striping contests. Yes, there are two other Simplicity tractors in my neighborhood and we (quietly) compete.
My package included a snowblade, mounting kit, chains and wheel weights. This accessory works well in our Illinois snow.
The only thing I actually miss is the lack of power steering which my older unit had. The automated starting system, with no choke, is absolutely fabulous. All I have to do is turn the key and within 2 seconds my engine is running and efficiently too.
I'd recommend this fairly-priced unit to any homeowner. It's painted red/orange because it is "hot" and very much ready to go!

This my first riding mower. I mow about 1 acre of uneven lawn with outstanding results. I chose the simplicity brand because I have owned a simplicity snow thrower since December 2002 with no major problems. The only complaint is that the R & L carrier was not equipped to remove such a large crate at a residence. The driver tried for an hour before we decided to remove the mower from the crate and roll it on to the lift gate.
