Don’t waste your money!
CAT pump failed in first hour of use!
Yes I know how to use a pressure washer. I ensured water was running through the pump at all times. My last “cheap” pressure washer lasted 20 years. Since my new expensive pressure washer is still in the shop, I bought a new pump for my old pressure washer. The Honda motor on my 20 year old pump still runs great therefore I bought a new pump because I need a reliable pressure washer.
Hopefully they will repair my new pressure washer with a new pump.

The Honda engine and the Cat pump are great. So far after 2 hours of use they have stayed attached to the Simpson frame. The first wheel fell off within hours of unboxing, it may, or may not have been attached with a silver E Clip, like the single wheel that was now still attached. I got 2 black E clips from the hardware store (just in case) and used one of them to put the unattached wheel on. Within less than a week, the OTHER wheel fell off. I know it was NOT the wheel I attached, because the new E Clips were black, and I noted the original one was silver. So either defective components to attach the wheel originally, or bad QC at Simpson. No way to know which one. The BAD part is, I called Simpson when the first wheel fell off, requesting an E Clip, and they said they could only ship a package that included 2 e-clips, 2 washers, and 2 wheels, and that on a brand new machine, delivered 2 days prior, I would have to pay $69 for this kit. I explained the warranty and was told since the parts are over $50, we can't ship them to you. So the Simpson warranty is complete BS. The pressure cleaner works well, but I will never buy another Simpson product or from any of the companies like them owned by FNA Group, Simpson Cleaning Systems, Delco Cleaning Systems, and FAIP Powerwasher. FNA does NOT stand behind brand new defective products.

ALH3228 Honda GX And Cat Pump

Plenty of pressure and surprisingly light. Be sure to check your elevation against Honda's recommended carb jet table. I am at 8000 feet and needed to go down to #72 instead of the factory jet. Without rejecting, it ran obnoxiously rich and sputtered. It purrs with the #72 jet. The correct Genuine Honda jet was difficult to track down. Also, Simpson did not include the correct hose. The fittings on the pump and wand are quick connects. The hose shipped was screw type. I called Simpson and they apologized saying the correct hose is backordered and they would send it to me when it was back in stock. That was almost two months ago, no hose yet. So... somebody at Simpson packed this unit knowingly with the wrong hose? That is weird. If so, at least include some adapters to make it work. I ended up buying the required adapters at HD. As others have commented, the packing is inadequate. Mine arrived in one piece with only a small ding on the muffler.
In summary, Simpson: add more cardboard, include the correct parts, and throw in a high altitude jet in case people need it.
The shipping from PW Direct was quick and uneventful.

This Is Not A 3400 PSI Pressure Washer

The CAT pump is only rated for 3000 max! The highest pressure you will see out of it with the trigger depressed is about 2200 psi. It's a good unit but the people at CAT pumps confirmed is never going to produce 3400 psi.
