Very happy with my new Snapper snow blower. It clears the driveway to the ground. It certainly was a life saver this winter. Excellent product - well built. Easy to order online and delivery was easy and fast.

Easy set up. Works great

I ordered my Snapper snow blower in early November. I did have one shipping delay, but it didn't matter because we didn't get much early snow in Detroit this year. When it came, it was pretty easy to assemble. About 15 minutes and I had it running. I like that it has an ohv engine and I don't have to mix fuel anymore. It starts very easy and really throws the snow. The chute directional handle could use a rework. Its gets stiff when its very cold and I don't think its feels like its engineered to last. We'll see.

First run, Excellent!
By Mark Z.
SOUTH MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin
Purchased 02/03/2015 |
Review Posted 02/27/2015
6 inches of new lake effect snow in South Milwaukee on Feb 26th. Couldn't try out the Snapper until after work, snow had settled a little and had some tracks. The alley had also been plowed already, so I had some more compact snow to deal with as the 6 started off pretty fluffy. Cleaned the whole sidewalk, small driveway by the alley and back in the garage in less than 35 minutes. Shoveling roughly 45-90 minutes, back when I shoveled last, like a week ago. Oh, and I skipped that little sidewalk area last snowfall, when we had more than 6, it had been settled there for a week or three. The depth was higher than the Snapper should allow, but I road over the area twice cutting it down to size and it got down to the pavement, it was really compact down there, them steel teeth were hungry! Bogged down a little and clogged on some slushy, melting street snow, but quick side-to-side with the auger control helped to clear it out.
I must admit while this website and their staff were excellent, I asked Joe a question or two and got my answers next day, Snapper let me down with some parts missing in the original shipment. Joe stood by and got me updates as to the needed parts and shipping dates. I had no trouble with the assembly, and my wife would tell you I'm not exactly Handy Andy. Put in oil and gas, insert and turn key, turn choke on, two pumps on the primer and two pulls, I kinda slipped the first pull, started right up. Auger engaged easily, and the joystick chute control is a big advancement over the old crank I had on my two stage. (Snapper, you need the same kind of gear for the upper chute, can't you spring load that puppy?) Anyhow, it worked like a charm.
This is Wisconsin, it's going to get a workout, but Little Big Red is up to the challenge I think, so far so good anyway. Me 1 Mother Nature 0. I get the win cause it took me far less time to clean up the mess she dumped on my yard, by a longshot too. I call 35 minutes, to 5-6 hours of her little tantrum, a win. Hey Ma, what else you got?

WORKED WELL FOR FIRST TIME USE

Purchased first week of February - Assembled the unit after reading instructions - had one question about auger attachment, called Direct, helpful and solved minor issue - used 2 weeks later. Not a major storm, about 6" of snow. Started first try with electric start and proceeded to blow driveway. Worked very well, almost had to hold back on forward movement, scraped down to pavement. Where city plow piled snow at and of driveway, took small sections due to chunks of hard snow or ice - didn't stall or clog.
Overall I'd say its a good buy - was concerned about reviews of belt issues. This unit replaced a 30 year old smaller Snapper, so hopefully this will also last many winters.

Got to use it for 5 minn. It died. Cost $125.00 for repairs. The plug came out. Lost oil. Great machine now. Better than Craftsman in so many ways. I do more than one driveway. This year I do three. Will buy a Snapper lawn mower in

Awesome Snow Blower!
By Dan G.
East Amherst, New York
Purchased 02/02/2015 |
Review Posted 02/23/2015
I live in a suburb of Buffalo and we are getting pounded this winter! This machine is a monster! Any little snow thrower will clear the plain stuff from the driveway, but this one chews through the wet, heavy, snow plow mess at the end even if it's frozen!
Throws 20-30ft and really has been amazing. Only complaint is it kicks some back under the machine sometimes and can't quite figure out why. Don't bother with a huge, clunky $1,000 blower. This one will get it done for you!

Easy and Powerful
By Cory D.

Purchased 02/02/2015 |
Review Posted 02/23/2015
For anyone who has never had a snow blower, this Snapper is very easy to setup and use. It is also a very powerful machine when it comes to plowing through big heavy snow and icy snow banks made by the snow plows that block our driveway.
This snow blower is easy enough for a novice but powerful enough for a professional. The site's 'A+' rating on this snow blower was on the money. I would definitely recommend this product.

Great machine
By Joseph B.

Review Posted 02/03/2015
2015 blizzard in Chicago is my inauguartion event with the 922. 16 inches of heavy wet snow was no match for this snow eater! I was very happy with the performance: length of throw - very respectable 30+ feet. power - ample for driveway and sidewalk. Had to slow the pace to clear the snow in the curb left by the plow. starting - first time. drift cutters - never thought I would need, but would have been nice. chute control - love the joystick to turn, wish distance was also remote controlled but at least is easy to change and holds its position. Chute - not one clog NICE. Self-propelled - have had other rubber bladed auger machines that would pull the machine forward throught the snow. This one seems to need a little help.
When researching, I needed something that was easy to operate for my mother-in-law in low to moderate snowfalls and would also tackle 6-8 inches fo heavy snow so I wouldn't have to haul my machine to her house. My 68 year old mother-in-law is happy with it for the 2 - 4 inch snowfalls she has cleared.
Overall, I would happily recommend this snow blower.

Easy To Use, Exceeded Expectations, Fast, Reliable

Best in its Class
By Charles B.

Review Posted 01/30/2015
The product was a snap to assemble and start. It has been used twice and worked well in snow, but struggled with packed down snow and ice. A two stage machine would be more suitable for removal of ice and snow buildup at end of the driveway from City street plows.
