Snapper 28" Riding Lawnmower
By Monte

Review Posted 08/13/2022
I have now used this mower for a fourth season after buying it used from a dealer. I bought it because I wanted to be able to store it in a garage easily. Though it is not a wide cutting mower, it still cuts wider than a self-propelled or push mower. It has been very reliable ... just had to purchase a new battery last season.

I love Snapper mowers !

My first rear engine Snapper mower was sold in Florida after 36 years of regular grass mowing. As of last year it was still being used by the man I sold it to.

My new rear engine Sapper has done an outstanding job. I love it but miss my handle bar Snapper from Florida which I purchased in 1976.

There's no doubt quality is off the best. Due to my small yard I would like a zero turn.

Love It!

I received my new Snapper in excellent condition. I was impressed how it was packed very well and delivered.
It is just perfect for my yard. It goes thru my gate from the front yard to the back yard with no problems.
It is comfortable when riding it while cutting the grass. It fits perfectly in my little storage barn.
It was a little hard getting it ready to use but my boyfriend helped me.
It would have taken me 3 days to figure it out but only took about 3 hours with my boyfriend helping me.
I love it and hope it will last me my lifetime.

Satisfied

Since I bought the mower so late in the season I have used it only twice. But even at that I am really satisfied with it's performance.

The mulching blade was somewhat of a problem to attach. There were no clear directions on how to remove the blade that came with it and how to get the mulching blade into the undercarriage.

Through trial and error and lots of purple language I finally was successful. It will be next Spring before I really put the mower to good use.

Good on a larger lot

The tractor was as advertised. I have only used it twice but it preforms very well.

It does not have a good turning radius which makes it hard to use in a small yard, but I knew that going in- which is why I gave it a 4 star rating.

It should be good on a larger lot.

Best Mower I Ever Had
By Anthony
Sturbridge, Massachusetts
Review Posted 10/09/2012
I decided to shop around for a new riding mower but I didn't want the "tractor type". I found the Snapper Rear Engine 28" High Vac on line at Mowers Direct.

The best decision I made was to buy this mower and from Mowers Direct. It was delivered on a truck just a few days after I ordered it, and it came in perfect condition. The driver was very friendly and even helped us get it off the truck.

I assembled a few parts on the mower, added gas and some oil and it started up first try. The instructions said the battery needed charging but it seemed fully charged to me.

I owned a Honda RE before this one, but the Snapper beats it by a mile. I mowed my 8" high lawn full of leaves for the first time and it didn't balk at it at all. I'm sold on Snapper.

Snapper Review
By Jim
Linden, Michigan
Review Posted 09/13/2012
We bought our current rider based on previous experiences, our 25+ year old Forrest Gump rider still cuts and vacums great. We replaced the engine a few years back, but the rest of the machine is still going strong. I was looking for the same machine when we purchased our new "Gump", no deal. Although our new machine cuts decent and runs well, plenty of power, it definitely is not of the same quality. Thinner, cheaper materials and a second rate engine conspire to create a less than desirable machine. The old saying, "They don't make them like they used to", fits this machine perfectly. To be fair, our Snapper isn't any worse than any other machines of non-commercial design and money.

After 22 Years
By Pete

My Snapper finally died after 22 years of cutting my ½ acre yard. Yes, they look funny, they're not green or gray like my neighbor's, but I will tell you that from Day One my Snapper has out-performed, out-sucked, and out-lasted all of the other mowers in the neighborhood.

As others would be unclogging their baggers my Snapper would be sucking up every piece of grass, leaves, monkey balls and whatever else might be in its way. We nicknamed it the VacuSuck.

So I get home from a week off with my family, looking forward to cutting the grass (yes, I’m one of those guys) jump on the VS , and away I go. I get about half way done when my rear axle and wheel go rolling past me. I was not happy that I had to push the rest to finish up, as it was 98 degrees.

I went in to my computer, typed in Snapper Mowers and Mowers Direct pops up. I do my research on what mower and accessories I need, compared cost with local and other web sites, read some reviews on Mowers Direct (even the bad one where the wimpy fu-fu guys don’t know what a ½” open-ended wrench is).

So I ordered the Mower on Sunday afternoon and it was delivered Wednesday of the same week. It took me and hour and half to un-crate and fully assemble. I was ready to cut my grass before it was ready for me.

Also in 22 years some great improvements were made to the mower, and best of all I paid less 22 years later then I originally did for my old mower.

Great customer service, follow up, and delivery!!!!!!
