This is my second review of this mower. I have about .4 acres of grass and I'm a diy type of guy. My last Honda mower was in its 5th year of use when I sold it. I sold it because I was sucked in by the promise of move vacuum and a cleaner cut. Boy was this a mistake. I would say that the cut marginally cleaner, but the mower only lasted one season. This year after changing oil cleaner filter etc. It just wouldn't start. When I reached out to Snapper they insisted I would need to spend the money and time to bring it in to a local shop. The shop advised me that it would cost over 150 bucks to repair. Now I'm stuck with a useless mower. Don't make the same mistake. The newer Snappers are terrible and they service and warranty are worthless. They don't stand behind their product for a reason. rnrnDon't buy!

Very sorry you're having issues with your mower. In most instances, if you used it last season, and it won't start this season it's the carb. A good cleaning should solve your problem.

As this unit carries a three year warranty that covers manufacturing defects and workmanship associated with that, the service center will only charge a fee if they diagnose the issue as a non manufacturing defect. The Hi Vac works great. I purchased it to pick up leaves and pine straw. I have picked up some off of the grass just as they lay and others after I have mulched them with my 54 in. riding mower, which reduces the volume even more.

I bought this to replace my beloved 25-year-old John Deere push mower. I mulch exclusively, and the Deere worked very well for that purpose. This Snapper is very light and maneuverable while using the accessory mulch cover, not the plug. This setup allows me to mow without the bag in place. While some reviews suggest that the Hi-Vac does not mulch well, it works wonderfully on both grass and leaves. It's imperative to get all four wheels adjusted to the same height. The third from lowest setting seems to work best for me.

The perfect mower for my needs! It starts easily, mows through tough/thick grass, but the grass catcher (bag) and discharge chute don't fit together properly. The opening of the catcher/bag is wider than the chute. The only other downfall is: it's a little heavier than I anticipated, but I'll get used to it.....

I have only used it 3 times so far, but I am very happy with how easy it starts and mows. The bagging system is superior. I look forward to next spring when the maple trees drop those whirlybirds (seeds) that get stuck in the grass and see how it sucks them up.

This does not suction as much as you'd expect. The gas tank rim is made of thin plastic and will not last. Other parts are already falling apart. You can do better at this price point.
