Had one for years. Hydraulic pump screams. have to wear ear protection when using it. Though it was slow, but used it a lot. Didn’t have any problems.

Best Splitter on the Market

Ive owned my splitter for almost ten years now... I absolutely would buy another, and suggest anyone in the market for a splitter buy a Swisher.
I'm gonna be completely honest when I say the only thing I have done to this thing is put gas in it, and I over-filled the hydraulic tank once when I thought it was low. I check the oil every year and it still looks as clean as the day I put it in.
I have put this splitter through hell and back on more than one occasion, since I burn about 14 ricks of wood a year. Plus friends and family use it, piling up loads of wood that it has split.
It is still running just as strong today as it was the first day I brought it home. I'm guessing I've run over 300 ricks of wood through this splitter and hope to get another 300.
Don't hesitate to purchase a Swisher, it's a great choice.

Sorry it's discontinued

I bought this model Swisher Splitter four three years ago. It's unbeatable. I split about ten cords of lodgepole pine per summer and this thing just eats up the wood.
I live in SW Montana where many folks heat their homes with wood in the winter. There are any number of splitters in the valley by different makers. I'll put my splitter up against any of them for speed, efficiency, and power.
I'm sorry to hear this model has been discontinued. It was a winner.
PS I did modify it by putting a torsion axle and 14" tires on it. Also put an aluminum plate to keep keep the half log on the other side of the splitter from where I stand from falling to the ground. Plate also protects the engine.

The LS722H approaches the ideal, in regard to price, power, fuel efficiency, decibel level, production rate and build quality for the homeowner, rancher, or farmer.
Our unit has proved unstoppable, splitting all we threw at it; including a goodly number of former "unsplittable" remnants of seasons past.
Speed, detent valve responsiveness and wedge design all combine to produce wood piles, fast ... much faster than expected.
It has heavy duty hydraulics throughout. The weld quality is superb. The functional design, working height and tire size, perfect.
Engine is easy starting, smooth running and easy on the ears. Love this unit
