The company would not help me in any way. Cut the first strip of grass and cut out, never to restart!

Really not a bad mower but it's just underpowered. If the grass gets a little high it bogs down fast. As for being self propelled, it works well on a flat surface but once you reach a slight incline the self propulsion disappears and the mower feels heavy. Would rather have a more powerful, lighter mower without the self propulsion.

Toro 21” RWD Self Propelled Mower
By MIchele W.

Review Posted 09/24/2022
This more mower gets the job done. Previously I had a Craftsman for about 18 years The starting, cutting and handling was great. When the self-propelling quit working, a part was not available so I had to shop for another similar product.
This Toro has a few problems:
There is a square indentation that causes a lot of clippings to stay in the chute and a lot of grass falls out when emptying the catcher the bar to engage the self to propel lion is a little awkward to use and regulates speed adjusting the wheels is questionable. I have not been able to raise/ lower the wheels to get the height as I want and the grass is being cut a bit shorter than I want.

Great Upgrades
By Diane S.

Review Posted 06/14/2022
This has been upgraded over previous model - the height is easy to change with just the lever on one side, and the side discharge chute is easily changeable with the bag. This is a great mower - love it!

I Am Fairly Happy With It
By Phil N.
Florida
Review Posted 06/14/2022
I could not find any decent mowers in my small town Menards store so ordered this online.
This is my 3rd Toro and first mulcher with no side discharge. I have come to like the mulcher feature since there are no clippings shooting all over and you can go close to trees with either side of the mower. The pull start is fairly hard to pull and this mower starts on the 2nd pull, never the first This is rear-drive and works well but for my next mower I may go to front-drive so I can leave the drive engaged when turning by lifting the front wheels. Now I have to disengage the drive to make a 90-degree turn.
Also, the handle that engages the drive could be closer to the main handle so you don't have to reach so far to grab it.
Wheel adjustments are not marked with numbers and I had to use a different height on the front than the rear to get the mower deck level.

Poor Design Flaw In The Catch Bag
By Lawrence G
Michigan
Review Posted 05/24/2022
Poor design flaw in the catch bag. When you cut the grass with the bag on it throws grass back at you through the top. Poor design and the top of the handle is plastic. Not put together very well.
