One pull start every time.
By Matt M
New Richmond, Wisconsin
Review Posted 02/11/2015
I bought mine used from a buddy who used it for his property management business. He wanted one that cut a larger swath so it wouldn't take as long. Lucky me. What impresses me the most is it starts first pull every single time. I live in the North woods of Wisconsin, and no matter how cold its been, the thing starts right up.

It doesn't even hiccup, stutter, moan, groan, gripe, or complain. Just turns over. More than enough power, has no problem throwing any kind of snow. No problem with the pile the plow leaves at the end of the driveway either. In dry, powdery snow, it pulls me along, even up my slanted drive. Makes for a quick job. I'm always first done on my court. Best of all, clears down to concrete. No complaints.

Gas Leak in 2011 Model 38593
By Walt
Hudson, Ohio
Review Posted 01/20/2012
I have a story nearly identical to Brian from Cleveland from earlier this month..and only 20 miles away.

Had a Toro snowblower for 15 years so when it finally gave out in early 2011, I purchased another Toro, model 38593, the Power Clear 210E. I used it for one snowstorm in Spring 2011. With no problems, followed procedures to store over summer, then gassed it up and used for our first 2011-2012 snowfall. Worked fine until I noticed in the morning after I used it that all the gas leaked out onto my garage floor! I did some research online and it looks like this model is known for issues with carb, gas leakage, etc.

Like Brian from Cleveland, I'm very disappointed. I now need to take it to authorized Toro service center who I guess will inspect and determine what the issue is, if under warranty, etc. Another example of a once great company known for quality now putting out bad product, probably to compete on price.

Needless to say, I'm very disappointed. I now need to take it to authorized Toro service? I will try calling Toro, but I'm not encouraged by what I read online.

Leaked Gas All Over Floor

Had a Toro snowblower for 20 years so when it finally gave out in 2010, I purchased another Toro, model 38593, the Power Clear 210E. Shoveling made easier
By Madeleine

I have but one regret. Why did I wait so long to buy this?

This winter has put a lot of snow on the ground. The Toro snow blower made the job of clearing as close to pleasure as one could expect from such a chore.

Thank you, Toro

Loved It Until Yesterday
By Doug Brown

Got my 210E in mid-Dec. It was all it was cracked up to be: easy start, plenty of power, really cleans the walks quickly and thoroughly. After about 20 hours of use... yesterday, Feb.8, it threw me a curve. The impellers kept turning even though the control handle was released! I used it to clear 6-8" of snow from all the walks in the neighborhood---about three-fourths of an hour. After I shut it off, I followed the instructions to adjust the control cable. I restarted it----same problem.

Today, after poring over the manual, I took the drive belt cover off. The drive belt was worn out, and a one-half in. bolt was jammed between the belt and the idler pulley! Upon further inspection I could see that the bolt had fallen out of its hole between the rotor pulley and the drive pulley. I removed the loose bolt, put it back where it belonged, put the cover back on, and readjusted the control cable. Now the snowblower starts as always, but the rotor blades continue to turn regardless of the position of the control handle.

Technical support has been of no assistance: "Take it to a Toro dealer." But the nearest dealer is 60 miles away and the roads are ice and snow. I know it's something simple, but I'm frustrated.

So far...so good
By Caroline and Warren
Revere, Massachusetts
Review Posted 01/23/2011
We have used the blower twice and so far, so good. However, my husband has a couple of concerns. The main concern is that feels the machine is made up of too much plastic and it may break easily. The second concern is not really a concern but a wish. He would like to be able to change the direction of the blower by not changing his position from where he is standing. Rather, he must go around to reach the blower in order to change the direction.

We were very pleased with the speed we received our blower. Thank you for your concern.

A+ this is my second one

I love this little guy. Who needs electric start when it starts on the first pull every time (I wish my lawnmower did). Extremely powerful and fast, much faster than a typical two-stage. Sure, it doesn't do the huge buildup at the end of the driveway as well as I'd like, but, I've learned to take it in small swaths and to use a shovel to break down the 5-ft stuff. I just bought this one for my house in the mountains and my six year old one is going well, too.

Just make sure to change the belt every few years. I do it every three. You can find them online for about $9 each, so make sure to have a spare just in case.

Happy, Sad and Extremely Disappointed
By Joel
Jericho, New York
Review Posted 01/21/2011
Happy - how great it works as far as doing it's snow blower job, but sad that electric starter broke after 4th start. Thank goodness for pull start option. Extremely disappointed since one of main reasons I bought unit was electric start need since I'm getting a little older and wanted the ease that it carried. Can't get repaired yet since blizzard is on the way UGH !!!!!!!

Life-long Toro Owner

Over 30 years ago my parents bought my wife and I a Toro as a house-warming gift for our first home. It was most welcome as we both were working and needed to be out of the house by 7:00am. We weathered many winter storms for the last 33 years with that Toro. It started every year, needed very little maintenance, and did its job through powdery and wet snow, slush, and even ice. Better than Timex, it just kept on working year after year.

Last year the handle snapped off, but it continued to run. I thought about replacing the handle, but decided it had more than served me well, and ordered the new model. Once again, Toro has continued their fine line of snow blowers and I am well pleased with the new model. I would highly recommend this machine for any homeowner.

It is lightweight, easy to use for men or women, and does an excellent job under any weather condition. Toro will always be the snow blower for me and my family and I have purchased this model for our son and his family so they can benefit from this excellent product.

Best snowblower for a single family house in New England
By ellyn

Review Posted 01/18/2011
We have been hit with two storms since I purchased this snowblower. One storm we got 18 inches. This model blew all of the snow out of our driveway and sidewalks with no problem. Our driveway is on a pretty good decline and this unit has no issues plowing the snow. My neighbors were shoveling for hours, I was able to get rid of all of the snow in a half an hour.

This unit is so easy to use. I was worried as a small female that this was going to be something that only my husband could use. I am the only person in the house that uses it.

I would highly recommend this unit to anyone.
