Better than expected

Untested yet as I bought in April '16.
I've had a toro CCR power lite for the last 15+ years. Still going but getting tired. So i bought this unit as they offered free shipping .
Came almost ready to go. No damage. Flipped the handle up, added the oil and touch of gas and it started after just a couple pulls.. Played with the features like the chute rotator, etc. everything looked, felt and sounded great.
Bring it on next winter! I'm ready!

Awesome! Couldn't be happier!

I did exhaustive research on this unit and ordered it late in the season after my CCR3000 was having a lot of trouble with a wet, 8" snow. I finally got to use it today on another 8", super wet snow and it was silly how well it ate it up. There were also drifts where the snow was up to 14" and the unit never even bogged. The zip is definitely not a gimmick and it worked flawlessly and allowed me to blow and turn the chute at the same time.

It's a great feature for working around cars and other obstacles. As a note, I did consider the 621 and even used one this season but tbh the difference in ability between the two is huge. This unit also has a very positive pull to it when blowing and flat out chucks snow. It's pricy but you have to amortize it, and it's ability and convenience over the long term end up making it a value in my opinion. I feel like in our area of Colorado I've got a blower now that can meet any challenge for the next 20 years.

Works great!

My old single-stage snow blower didn't make it through the 24" of snow in January so I did the research and found that the 721 QZR had a lot to recommend it. SBD delivered it exactly when they said it would. Setup was easy -- attach the shoot, fill the crankcase with the oil provided and gas it up. Started on the second pull. I use only non-ethanol fuel to avoid any carb problems. I took it out when 4" of snow arrived and it was fun! I did 3 driveways and sidewalks in about 45 minutes.

The Quick Shute should be on all snow blowers. It helps you move quickly and efficiently. My old snow blower had a crank to move the shoot but it worked slowly. I had to have the remote shoot control and it works perfectly. There was occasional snow blown back from underneath the machine (a common complaint) but this was more a function of the surface you're working than the machine. On anything but a smooth service all single-stage blowers tend to do that. The 721 is powerful and really tosses the snow. Looking forward to the next storm!

A couple of days after receiving the snowblower we had an epic snow storm. The blower was all I had wished for.

It cleared the snow well and was easy to operate.

Dangerous defect

review 6 image 1
I have used my new thrower, four times this season since it arrived. But at the end of the last round of throwing, Ii noticed the paddles were not disengaging. The wire connecting the safety handle was totally loose, but the paddles were still turning. I turned off the machine and inspected the wire.

It was jammed into the cam located by the left wheel, and was stuck so that the paddles would not disengage even though the safety handle was released. I am taking it in to be repaired. The wire looks like it had been melted into cam. I'm not sure exactly what is going on with it, so that is why im taking it into the repair shop for warranty service. Very disappointed. Toro, you let me down.

Couldn't be happier about service on getting my snow blower to me. Unpacked & set the machine up and one wheel falls off due to a faulty or missing wheel nut!

Works Great

The snowblower starts right up every time. It seems like it throws the snow farther than my last snowblower. I really like the way the snow spout adjusts. I was able to change the direction of the spout quickly while the snowblower is in motion. A small push will rotate the spout 180 degrees. One thing that I have noticed is that the snowblower moves pretty fast once the augur is engaged which might be a concern for some people.

Toro is the leader in the Single Stage Snow Thrower business.

I purchased the Toro 721QZR 212cc 4 cycle to replace my Toro 221QR 141cc that was a excellent 2 cycle snow thrower. I have no regrets love the idea no more mixing gas and after using the machine you don't smell like gas like the 2 cycle machine. I gave my Toro 221QR to a family member and the machine is still running like the first day I purchased it. Toro 721QZR nice and light with plenty of power to get the job done. I recommend the Single Stage Toro. First one I order came damage and Snow Blowers Direct changed it with no issues. Easy transaction.
